Well, seeing as we are starting to take over the

"Offical HOP "I just learnt a new move" thread", I thought we should contain this bit just to jugglerisng and the throwing and dropping of balls, clubs, rings and other miscellaneous juggling props.

Today I mothered learning 441.

I had a few throws of 531 but only 1 catch. I think my 5 is too high.

Note for the mods: I DEMAND on behalf of the jugglers on this site, as has been done with the aforementioned "Poi moves thread", that this one is made a sticky thread.

Otherwise its just favouritism really....

Mike's mess? 522: 5(under arm double) 2 2 (cross follow)

Couldn't find any really good examples on the internet but these should be useful.

The trick itself:

Well, I was messing about inventing some steals in club passing patterns at juggling club on Tuesday. I'd seen them being done before but never taken much notice so it was a fun voyage of discovery. The all work on the principle of 2 people passing 6 clubs and me with a single club, stealing clubs out of their pattern and replacing them with mine. Not had so much fun juggling in a good long while!

Figured out how to move into and out of the pattern with a steal/replace, can do random replaces to either juggler in 2/3/4 counts, and started moving towards inventing some interesting ways of doing the replace:
- Basic one, hold the wrong end of the club, face the juggler and slap the handle into their hand;
- Face away from juggler, hand it over the shoulder to them
- Face away from juggler, flick it backwards, kind of like a time-reversed shoulder throw
- Pass it back though the legs

All of them are fairly simple on 4 count, but doing them on 3 count everything gets crazy pretty quickly smile

Oh, that's what Mike's mess is! I've been doing that for ages but never really considered it a trick because the arm movement is totally superficial. smirk

Playing around with claw catches. Need to get new balls though.

Any cheap suggestions?

Balloons with rice in em.

Use two different balloons. Use the second balloon to hide the part where you tied it off, cut the bit you blow up and cut a few circles out of it and you'll have juggling balls with spots on them! smile

Hahah, my only other recommendation isnt cheap. I use hybrid balls. Mmmm...

Mike7: I never said permanently. I just want to get three balls solid before I move on. So does that mean that a kitten is resurrected?

4 balls is the most fun, for the reason that you can throw one higher than the rest and still do whatever three ball tricks you want underneath which allows for about a zillion more things than are possible with just three. smile

And no, the kitten is still dead. He'll probably come back when you learn 4 balls (but he might become a zombie or something like in pet cematary, so you better hurry).

I agree, 4 is fun... though the other day I saw someone (Matt Hall) do a 5 ball 97333 I think with a Machine instead of normal 3's. It was awesome.

I have moved back to learning some 3 ball tricks that I avoided in my quest for the 5 ball cascade, and I'm enjoying some 'clay-motion-esque' moves.

I was messing around with 711 and figured out 73171131 then went on to 83383133 and (just now) 94493344. smile

I briefly tried to do a 4 ball rubensteins using something like 952233 - but failed. frown

the 83383133 is interesting, but it seems like alot of effort for a 633 =P
I'm only half aware of how high an 8 is from doing 8040 or 1 handed 3 ball high-low shower (fountain).

Just because I'm not sure, and I'm an a$$ for Siteswap, is 711 like a 7(2x,2x)(2x,2x)?

Yeah, 83383133 seems to fit well into a run of 633.

711 isn't ground state, you have to throw a 5 to get into it. It's basically a high three ball cascade but with two quick passes (1's) between every throw. (Not the same as 73131.)

I also had a little go at b444b333444 but it seems pretty nuts. I managed some b444444's to warm up though.
