Well, seeing as we are starting to take over the

"Offical HOP "I just learnt a new move" thread", I thought we should contain this bit just to jugglerisng and the throwing and dropping of balls, clubs, rings and other miscellaneous juggling props.

Today I mothered learning 441.

I had a few throws of 531 but only 1 catch. I think my 5 is too high.

Note for the mods: I DEMAND on behalf of the jugglers on this site, as has been done with the aforementioned "Poi moves thread", that this one is made a sticky thread.

Otherwise its just favouritism really....

Wow!!

My first post in this thread...

Today I did a three club flash.

Then I managed to get six/seven catches a couple of times...

Who'd have thought it? Me, juggling...?

Oh that...

I've tried that before, I *think* that I can do it, but the orbits don't feel right for some reason...

ur not really doing orbits in mikes, just swapping hands like in mills instead of orbits like in rubensteins.

woohoo, had a hardcore week of juggling, even thoug i didn't get to go to bizzle, which continues to make me very sad. Finally got my head around passing clubs, managed to get 4, 3 and 2 count sorted, no ultimates as of yet, that and feeding, which is blatantly really lush.

Attention all 5 ball siteswappers, pat needs help!!!

I managed to flash both 66661 and 744 on both sides this week, what advice can anyone give me on getting them into the pattern? Other than flashing them loads and loads and getting them to look as good as when the computer does it. I'm thinking i'm gonna want to flash them and go into 5 from that before i try going into them from 5.

seeya soon Guys

Go in from 5b. In theory you could do 555555666617446666174474464564575397531... or whatever. I find try and do siteswaps from the cascade and go back in. Do it once then twice etc.

I had a a weekend of bouncing - i got my 5b force bounce working well, nearly got 5b lift straight into force bounce. worked out 744 (kind of) and I am smile smile about getting 534, where all the balls bounce. Also started to run 66661 and got a 4b multiplex cross in 5b lift bounce.

cheers will, sounds like your 5 ball works the same way my 4 ball has been coming along, the 66661 flash is stilla bit scetchy but if its gonna work the way all my 4 ball siteswaps worked then it's gonna take a couple of months to start integrating it into the 5 cascade anyway. flashing 744 is still a distant dream. Its funny though, coz juggling 5 balls is so much fun that i wouldn't even care if i couldn't do any tricks. I haven't been counting or timing it but when it works it goes on for ages, not every run mind, but enough for it to be fun.

hi jon, how are you? Do you actually want me to explain all of it to you? its quite complicated, and it seems to get a little bit sillier everytime i think/ask someone else who understands more than me about it. we could do some poi if you get scared:-)

i've been playing aroung with 6451 and trying to stick it in on either side, lush little pattern, i'm not to sure what it looks like to the non juggling person, but it looks nice to me, i'm a bit scared to try 5641, it looks quite complicated.

oh, finally mastered the inverted shower, robot, machine thing (the one that makes a triangle, rather than carridge return line feed, if that makes sense), and the ubercomplicatedsome looking inverted shower rubensteins revenge thingy, (thats obviously not its real name, but it sums up what it looks like quite nicely, either that or the "crane mess")

Sounds like everyone had a nive time getting their head done in at bristol, i can't believe i missed that...

guess i'll just have to keep on practiving for the next juggling convention:-)

anyway thats enough nonsense for me, seeya all soon

3 rounds of 55500 with clubs, and I am practising releasing the clubs from my left hand, which feels awkward.

Nothing learnt today, but -

Two clubs, one hand is annoying. I can only managed 10 or so catches, and even then I begin rotating...

Four clubs is going to take a lot of work.

I know how you feel, Megafish.

Today -

I managed approximately 12 catches of 4 club doubles! It feels fantastic to run, even for such a small amount of time. My knuckles, and especially my thumb will need time to recover from the battering they received.

I practised a little with 6 balls too, 8 catches was my best.

I hurt my thumb three weeks back, and it's only just healed, and today the double-spun club hit it square on, transferring the force straight down the thumb... for such light items they don't half gather a shitload of momentum.

Inverse prayer? Is that like normal prayer butterfly, but with your hands back to back instead of palm to palm?

BTN = behind the neck, right? Tip: when the ball is travelling between your elbows across the back of your neck, keep your elbows high. shoulder height, maybe just a fraction above should do it. and push your head forward, not down into your chest. Lean away from the ball slightly as it travels around. When I do mine, I start off with my arm making a circle, and when the ball gets near my elbow, the shape of my arms switches to a more square shape, like this: I_o_I (bird's eye view, the 'o' being my head, pushed forwards not down.) And practice lots!! tongue
