You know, these are a very under-appreciated invention.

I'm lighting my entire apartment for about 5W right now. I wouldn't do surgery in this setting, but it's light enough to make a cup of tea...

I have blue LED's mounted behind the TV and display shelves, behind my bookshelves in my hall are mounted green LED's and a yellow and red lava lamp. And there are green LED's behind my dresser and blue LED sculptures in my bedroom.

My entire apartment is this playground of primary colors at night now. I love it! ubbrollsmile and all for 5 watts!

LED Throwies

A throwie is a lithium battery, and LED and a rare earth magnet all taped together.

wow, that sounds VERY cool (I'd like to add my name to the list of people who'd love to see a pic of it online wink )

how long did it take you to set up? How much did it end up costing you? I'm moving into an apartment where we pay for electricity, so I'm definately interested in hearing about ways to save money (other than fluorescent lighting, which gives me headaches >< ).
