Hello wave

I hope you're all eagerly awaiting news about PLAY 2006, well so are we! We're having troube finding a venue that meets our requirements, primarilly

a) Is cheap enough to keep ticket price down
b) Is in (or roughly in) the Midlands
c) Isn't just an empty field

Sounds simple you may say, but alas not so far. If anyone knows of any decent venues can you let us know here? Did you go to a little festival last Summer in a nice quiet tucked away place in the countryside somewhere perhaps? Did it have anything like running water etc?

If you can think of anywhere please post whatever details you have, or send a pm to me instead if you fancy smile

Thanks! hug

OK, so to draw together where we are at the moment, what are the dates and location as they stand?

Will those capable of telekinesis please raise my hand?

Tom_Shill, the dates are the 22nd to the 26th of June, but at the moment we don't have a venue booked.

Have a look at the first post in this thread and let us know if you have any ideas!

There is a really good venue that will probably be booked up pretty soon that is available the week after or three weeks after.... Do you wait to see if something else comes up? As it hasn't yet... or take a good venue that seems really interested?

Hmm.... toughy....

Always open to new ideas, don't want to change to dates unless absolutely forced to by something like location, posting what dates are best for individuals won't influence this either, sorry! hug

JtJ....just read your post. Can you PM me details please, thanks! hug

hmm . . . thinking quite far ahead here, but hey, im excited biggrin

I've just realised that if PLAY was to be in Swindon on the weekend after Glasto weekend (first weekend of July), it would be at the same time as the Old Town Summer Festival, at which I work (performing/workshops).

it might not be suitable at all, but if people were up for it, it might be nice to involve some jugglers in the summer festival's parade or something . . .

Yeah as Sym says we're pretty much done, just waiting on final confirmations and such. We hav a Norfolk option but keeping it as a back burner for the mo just in case. Same for the Swindon one too that folks were great to find for us smile

Have a look at the venue page on the ford hall farm site. We will have access to showers and loos, there is a farm shop on the site selling the basics, we have moonbeams back again this year selling amazing food and if all that isn't good enough the town isn't that far away. You will have all you need on site though smile

except showers....you'll have to go to the local swimming baths for that. Although the play bus will help folks if they don't like the idea of a 20 minute walk.

Noodles, if you keep your questions to the playfestival website we'll be able to give much better answers as the website develops in the next few weeks

X hun what if we make you a ball park play pen that is filled with nothing but go-cat? Would that make you happy...or just too fat to get in and out of the cat flap on the boat?

Because, if you were too fat to get out the flap it means you couldn't go mouse and bird chasing. Those being 2 of your main hobbies knocked on the head I thought that might make you a little sad.
