I've been watching the CBeebies channel with my son and I actualy think my brain has begun to decompose! I can now only count in brightly colored shapes. Is this channel rotting my brain or am I just thick? (bearing in mind I did pass all my GCSEs) confused

Well, if the worst comes to the worst, you could always dye your hair blond, and be one of those attractive dumb blondes...

I wish I counted in brightly coloured shapes...

Start watching Discovery Kids, as Tinkle... Tinquelle Pants said. Or better still, watch the news channels. Get the son hooked on current affairs.

He'll love the news in no time. :|

imagine the headlines...

Euan Blair was said to be "very sorry" yesterday after fire fighters successfully put out a blaze at downing street this week

Euan, 21, apologised and blamed his incompetence on a fire spinning community website......

Little children are visual learners.

They somebody doing something, they copy. That's how they learn. These programmes are aimed at children between the ages of 0-4. Before they can read or even talk properly.

The bright colours catch their attention and keep them watching.

Showing something to them twice lets it sink in a bit better.

Luckily most kids learn from experiences too... PLay dough - tastes bad... However, if they keep seeing other people doing it, they're gonn keep doing it...

I say turn off the TV. Throw it in the bin and teach your child there is way more to life than sitting infront of a box of lights. Not having a TV and saving on the licence fee alone will give you enough cash to do much more exciting things!

turn off the TV and read to them, after years of that (maybe 2-3) your have those kids everyone envies, the goodlooking clever ones who can pronounce the T on the end of words, and doesnt say Innit (the only word most kids pronounce the T on the end of)
