i reckon concrete is a good idea

you know it'll hurt, so your body releases adrenealin, so ou become more aware, so you'll probaly hit yourself less biggrin

yes but when it releaseses it, isnt it surposed to make you fasterer? adrenealin? so you will spin them faster and then whack yourself harderer?

I've spun soda cans before! The only bad thing is that it cut me when I was doing a leg wrap so that kinda sucked tho

I have a pair of cone poi made with tennis balls filled with metal nuts.
They're so, so nice but they really hurt when they hit you.

The obvious solution is to get better quickly so you hit yourself less wink

But there's no sense crying over every mistake. You just keep on trying till you run out of cake.

Beaming Poi!

Honestly, I think Beamers are worse than concrete filled tennis balls cuz at least the balls have rubber on the outside.

Not to mention my Beamers were the first set of poi I owned so they're what I learnt on smile

Beamers are ACE! I love mine (even though they are now slightly damaged from hitting my skull/knees/shins)

I have some practice monleyfists made out of nylon rope... They're ridiculously hard and don't flex at all. They're just like a ball of solid plastic. Painful.

But I use them anyway! ubbloco

Beaming poi are fantastic, the only complaint I have with them is that they're not quite heavy enough...

Pics wouldn't do beaming poi justice. It's not until you've been hit on the head or the knee that you really appreciate beaming poi! And trust me, even if you NEVER hit yourself normally, with beaming poi you will!!!

Just imagine two heavy lumps of very hard plastic with two AA batteries each, spinning at a million miles an hour...
