Gathy asked me when the first Clapham is, and we talked about 1st of May?

Anyone up for it?

First Clapham of the year? 1st May. It's a Sunday with a bank holiday Monday after it, so people can play late with no excuse about work on Monday!

ubbangel

Ok... we meet by the bandstand, just go to the bandstand and you'll sure to see people spinning on the grass nearby. About 3pm ish

So, the question is: How often should Clapham Common meets happen?

If i was still living near London I'd say twice a month. However I think what's changed since i started spinning is less London people and more people who are willing to travel for big things. There were lots of people (4 of us from birmingham direction, a load from southampton, several from kent) who'd travelled further than we'd do for a regular event, particularly one without many people. Last year I attended a lot of ones with under 10 of us, which was cool, but only because I was staying in London already.

Clapham common is just that, it's a public space for people to do whatever they want within the law/rules of the park, so if people want to go once a week that's great. I think thou that it'd be good to organise big ones once a month to guarantee a good turn out/make it more worthwhile for people to travel to.

I live fairly close by (Clapham Common) so I'm quite likely to come along however often it's on, unless something else is happening that weekend (not likely on a Sunday afternoon).

What I really need is another gf who does poi - the last one split up with me just as summer was getting started, which was silly timing on her part wink Now we've both got nobody to go out and play poi with all summer...

By the way, I've edited all the names I could find in this thread back into [Old link] - there are only a few anonymous people left now!

Once a month sounds good for me too. Not likely to get cover at work every sunday, but wouldn't want to wait more than a month or so to see fine poi/staff/etc people again. Seems like a good balance.

Yeah, it's definitely with a J. I thought it had an i in it as well, but I'll take your spelling until someone argues smile

That only leaves one mystery person, thanks!

It looks from the picture like #35 (Juice) might know who #36 is?

I'm not sure I agree to this naming/shaming thing

36 is Justine's BF Mark, who's a non spinner/civillian (as far as I know). Pink? Has already said this, although she got a little confused between 36 and 30 smile

bummer frown

I once had my favourite pair of cyberdog trousers nicked whilst spinning at a festival. They were after my digital camera, which I'd cunningly placed around the neck of the stoned person supposidly looking after my bag. Instead they got my fuel flask, a camera case, house keys and a tatty old pair of trousers with much history, worth approximately nothing. They ditched the housekeys, which were picked up and handed into lost property the following day.

Wow, that'd be rather embarrasing if it happened in public tongue
