U tell a riddle. Basic Rules. Guess it. He/she/thing who guesses correctly wins and tells the next one...

I'll start.

When it is broken, it still works.
Beating pains it not...

bit small and crappy, but a bit hard.

Durbs...Whats in my pocketsesssss....(stealing Cantuseseseses thread title)... biggrin

ok you wanted something boneless( ive hit snow on my one and only snow experience and it was damn hard and not at all boneless..owiies redface)

Im told a certain object grows in the corner
rises and expands, throws up a crust.
A proud wife carried off that boneless wonder, the daughter of a king covered that swollen thing with a cloth

Now the last line makes no sense to me at all..I think maybe its been mistranslated.

Is it the Truth?
Is it Fair to all concerned?
Will it build Goodwill and Better Friendships?
Will it be Beneficial to all concerned?

Submarine perhaps

"A curiosity hangs by the thigh of a man, under its master's cloak.
It is pierced through in the front; it is stiff and hard and it has a good standing-place.
When the man pulls up his own robe above his knee, he means to poke with the head of his hanging thing that familiar hole of matching length which he has often filled before. "

Think of something that has a small hole at the top and is poked into holes, and that most of us use a few times a day.

None of these riddles came with answers and are translations so sword may well have been an answer to the original riddle but not the accepted answer.

another translation goes like this

"A strange thing hangs by a man's thigh,

hidden by a garment. It has a hole

in its head. It is still and strong

and its firm bearing reaps a reward.

When the man hitches his clothing high

above his knee, he wants the head

of that hanging thing to poke the old hole

(of fitting length) it has often filled before"

My second is lion in the sky
My third is the stunted irishman
My fourth is the sun in ancient Egypt.
My whole is a queen who died with her asps.
Who am I?
