U tell a riddle. Basic Rules. Guess it. He/she/thing who guesses correctly wins and tells the next one...

I'll start.

When it is broken, it still works.
Beating pains it not...

bit small and crappy, but a bit hard.

The existance of flamethrowers says that someone, somewhere, at sometime said "I need to set that thing on fire, but it's too far away."

I didnt cheat... I just thought about it... fire breaths, dances and lives. Someone on here has a thing like that in their siggy, "Fire is alive, it lives and breaths, but we control it, and dance with fire" thats what gave it away.

Must warn you... this one is really stupid, and doesnt make much sense.
What begins with A and is useful for looking up skirts?

This is more of a geometry related question rather than a riddle, but I think its kinda cool:

ABG is a right-angled triangle

C and E are points along the line AG
D and F are points along the line BG

AB = BC = CD = DE = EF = FG

You have to work out the shape of the triangle...
and the angle of AGB (the inside corner at G).

Because Poe wrote on both.

is it a right-angled triangle? (as my matchsticks suggest) however as for the angle, I dont know.

i would have changed ***** to phallus, and claire to petey Petey

Because Poe wrote on both.

Yup, sort of. There's a couple answers to this. You got one of them. I think the full answer was:

"Poe wrote on both, they both produce a few flat notes and both are almost never backwards"
("raven" backwards = "nevar" = almost "never")

Give me a lever long enough and a place to stand and I can beat the world into submission.

I don't get why the writing desk is 'almost never backwards"?

Quote from Alice in Wonderland...

'I haven't the slightest idea,'"
