I joined the "church of alan" on Saturday. It's a good religion for singles and involves the licking of chocolate off skin by a church member as an initiation ceremony.

Hmmmmm I don't know, I think there's something wrong with me. I have plenty of opportunities for testing (well maybe not right now and in Bedford), but I just don't find people I really want to be with.
Which is probably good cause at least I won't be disappointed, but ya know, I'm beginning to think I'm somewhat emotionally challenged

I doubt it, sometimes it just goes that way. I haven't met anyone I wanted to be with for over a year. Admittedly I haven't been looking that hard but then I wasn't really looking when I met her, it just happened.
It is tough just waiting though and every now and then you do end up thinking "Is it me...?" Don't worry, it probably isn't!

we're all posting in a singles thread, instead of being somewhere where there might be a chance we could get out of the singles thread... good chance that makes most of us emotionally challenged, yes?
but ye... the "people I really want to be with" thing, is a real toughie... I've seen a lot of "can't find any decent (or words to that effect) prospects around here", type of posts, lately...
which brings me back to my earlier idea... "the International HoP exchange programme"!! it's genius, I tell you... all apart from the distinct lack of funding ideas...

I've learned that it's no use going out with someone who you "just" fancy, it never works. There has to be some kind of spark to keep it working, but I haven't had that in 5 years or so! (God I'm sad!)
