It is with a heavy heart and a broken leg that share with my lovely fire family that i will not be able to twirl anything for at least a year ubbcrying obviously, this completely changes my lifestyle! no acro, no doofs, and certainly no sandworm riding.

as it stands, my right tibia and fibia had cracked backwards and displaced before impacting at a bad angle - the only way my foot is connected to the rest of the skeleton is via a metal rod that connects most of the length of my tibia bone via screws. Even putting any weight at all on my legs is out of the question for ages..

it's gotten a bit hard to be chirpy now that i can't stand or care for myself, but at least my friends/missus come to visit and listen to my tales of woe beerchug.

just to youse know in case yer wondering why i'll be dropping off the radar.

thanks go out to pyroptix and captn_shiner for being my rescuers - your kindess was incredible. peace

*** EDIT for xrayness ***

before surgery (the blob is the plaster) and after the rod is inserted.

hmmm overdosing on video whilst waiting for bender mender, i realise that it is now much more difficult for me to enjoy one of my cherished pastimes... that of watching videos of people doing stoopid things.
a viewing of "CKY volume 1" made me wince just too much..

Never broke one yet

Sorry to hear it Bender. Look on the bright side though, you get to take a break from work/classes(?) and staffing for some inner reflection. Not to mention ya have plenty of time to post here! Im sure youll be back to your staff in no time (casts...pfft). Good luck and get well soon.

Let's turn those old bridges we crossed into ashes.
We'll blaze a new trail,
and torch the rough patches.

my many thanks for the warmness for youse all have shared with me - it's so ace that there is so much care our there.

eh Mr Left leg is totally sore now from desperate-looking one leg twirling - Mr right leg is so strophied from not being energetic that it feels soooo heavy when i try to lift it.
Hopefully it's strength will return in time for the next round of Circles of Light submissions(!)

it was and is the most challenging time of my life, but i have learnt to value many things though the experience.
I still cannot run - I cannot jump, and there is pain if i twirl or even if the weather gets cold (titanium expansion!)
but i have no choice and have been forced to develop my twirling in a non-acrobatic direction frown
I recently fell off a ledge after watching infected mushroom and couldn't walk for a week - but at this stage, i can restart arcobatix/martial arts by Late September 2005!
Who knows, i may have grandkids by then. ubblove

Ow man ,I completely feel your pain.I have fractured my left leg five times and my right seven, not to mention my arm being shattered as well as my hand.my sternum cracked.broken the leg above my right kneeand both sides of my left.and I have been shot and stabbed in the same hand(both were accidents.)
And I did it all before I was 18.as you can guess I stay at home inside a lot.

There are no obstacles only challenges.

...OR in fact impregnated.
by a sentient hive-mind of grapefruit squashing triplet nuns from Tibet.
erm whichever cometh first.

argh this injury - to be in recouperation for so long that I find myself constantly tired due to my out of shape musckles not being efficient at all when I go and do stuff and thing. Nevertheless, good or bad, I accept this as my path and will do my best. COL 5 will definitely not see me in any acrobatics at all, so my routine will be quite different from the staff video I used to host.

To new directions, eh? smile

ps vaporloc, yoo be da man!! it's inspirational that you're still in love with firetwirling!! cool

Ok, Mr. Bender. You're going to want to jump right back into it all.

Remember. TWO YEARS. EASE back in slowly, K?

EASE... expect it to be six months or more until you're back in shape.
