Hellooo

Starting on Monday in travelling Europe for a month (soooo excited.)

Basically I'm looking for advice on where I can get my hands on some paraffin when I'm there? Also, what kind I should/shouldn't get? I usually use 'Bartoline' paraffin.

Thanks in advance,
Ross

Depends where in europe really.

In the UK you can pick it up all over the place (petrol stations, hardware stores, camping stores, garden centres, etc).

I struggled in Italy to find anything other than 'lamp oil' (but that was about 6 yrs ago) and when I asked in hardware stores they looked at me like I was mental. I remember finding it in Spain without any problems. In France it is sold in the super(/hyper)markets (Carrefour etc.).

Where abouts are you heading? It has different names in different countries.

German/ Austrian/ Swiss counties usually sell it in hardware stores, occasionally supermarkets and gas stations ...

in German it is called "Lampenöl"
("a" as in "hArdware", "e" as in "wEAthEr", "ö" as in Ozzie style "no")

this thread would be much better situated in the "Help" section wink

the best smiles are the ones you lead to wink
