It seems that I have hit a wall with my poi lately...

So far I can:

Three-beat Forward
Three-beat backward
Three-beat Backward Behind The Back
Reels in Split Time
Reels in Butterfly
Chasing the Sun
Mexican Wave
Behind the back/head Butterfly

But I can't find the drive to learn another move because I feel like I suck! I know I suck, I can only do the above!

Anyway, I may just be bitching (I saw that word in a PG movie wink ) But I can't seem to inspire myself to learn more... Life has been hectic lately though...

EDIT: This board needs more posts anyway so why the hell not right?

Windmill? Windmill with extensions? Windmill into a full arm extended pirouette?

You're sitting at a pretty good point in your poi life at the moment, theres so much to learn and so little you can't learn.

If I were you I'd drive into some techy stuff so that I stay inspired then have a look further down the track and go "Right, well, what can't I do the other way?" and then do that. grin

Windmill it is! I have been practicing changing the directions with stalls, which is easier than I expected... At least with socks, that and isolations o.O

I really enjoyed starting to do wraps, and taps, off the arms and the legs, and around the waist even. Sort of adding something percussive to the mix!

For me the moves that really opened up my spinning when I was at that stage were the windmills (both directions) and thread the needle, once you have that you can turn in any direction with the poi going any direction and keep them moving without having to wrap or anything.

Also lockouts are a nice simple way of getting out of trouble without having to stall or wrap

That actually really inspired me a lot, I accidentally learned butterfly reels yesterday, still working on windmill, it's hard because we have three feet of snow minimum everywhere; and light fixtures inside!

Swap you the 42'C in the shade before humidity we had on Friday?
I think it was over 50'C in the sun....
