OK, this is a G-rated thread.

Ok: Male reproductive tract general themes:
All hormones remain at a relatively stable level. More testosterone inhibits the pituitary gland's synthesis of stimulatory hormones, nice, clean feedback.

Sperm are generated in seminiferous tubules in the testis. It's a very nice, orderly process with each germ cell giving rise to four sperm cells. It's predictable, easy to understand, organized, and quiet. It turns out millions of sperm cell every minute.

Female reproductive tract general themes:
Hormones shift all the time. Half the time, estrogens feed back on the pituitary to inhibit more estrogen stimulation, but then around ovulation for a reason that nobody understands, it suddenly becomes positive feedback and estrogens suddenly STIMULATE the pituitary gland. Follicles are constantly activating, then commiting hari-kari, things are randomly exploding and imploding, eggs being thrown out to the wind on the odd hope that a fallopian tube will find them, etc. Total mess.

Personally, I think this explains a lot.

What exactly are you trying to say Mike?

Also please explain G rated to us non-Americans.

Are we nearly there yet?

It sounds to me like he is trying to say that men are boring and only good for one thing and that women bring excitement to the universe!!!

Sure! I’ll go with that.

And a G-rated film means you can take your kids to see it without having nudity or swearing... but it doesn’t mean much more than that. And I feel like some of the movies out there that are G-rated are still way to horrifying in their story line for little kids... Like 101 Dalmations, that was G-Rated, with that horrible woman chasing innocent puppies to murder them and skin them for their fur!!! I think that is a horrifying and complicated concept for a kid, and not even a realistic one!!! How confusing.

I've read alot of feminist papers on how language used in the medical discription of reproduction is heavily gendered and favors men. It got soo intensly negative that forgot pretty much every arguement they made.

And boys have cooties! Ewwwww!

However, it is also a medical fact that men will go through a hormonal shift of their own every 40 days or so. Then where does that figure in?
Or the fact that men also have estrogen and women have testosterone as well.

But then again, what do human men know about us Venusian women anyway!

I refuse to post in this thread because HoP is an example of how the patriarchal society keeps women down in the negative gender-based stereotypes! This keyboard in front of me is even gender-biased!

Oh wait, I'm a guy... well, scratch that argument. As you were.

Pele, there are no male-specific hormonal "cycles" per se. There is a diurnal cycle in testosterone (levels cycle every 24 hours), but then again, there's a diurnal cycle for just about EVERYTHING.

The idea of a "male menopause" is also overblown in the popular media. There is a lifelong, gradual depression in circulating androgen hormones (like testosterone and androstenedione), but no abrupt fall-off like in the female reproductive system.

It's simple, really. Girls are wierd.

I think women are afraid to come out in a rant because in a thread like this the only question that I can possibly think of to ask that woman is...

That time of the month?

At least we girls have some kind of variety, instead of always remaining the same only to go into a small decline at the end! (we also can still do "it" at the age of 80 if we want, whereas u guys, well u guys have to get it up...)
