So, i'm drinking chocolate custard out of a 600ml carton... my mum would never have let me do that when i was living at home.

What awesome things are you guys doing now that you don't live with your parents?

Oh my!!! Too funny Faith!!!

I'm 40 and still have to make sure that I keep my tat and piercings under wraps when I see my folks.....

Both of my parents are elderly and VERY conservative, and I don't want to give either on of them a heart attack!!!

They have a hard enough time with the way I dress...the rest would be just to much for them to take!!! rolleyes

washings a piece of cake..it's rent and bills that are a pain in the jacksey.

I've also not lived with my parents for ages...about 7 or 8 years now.
Did that 'cranking the music up as loud as you want' thing, after complaints from the neighbour and a letter from the environmental health people, thats not going to be happening again soon.ubblol

I like being able to eat what I want when I want though.

One of the very nice things about having lots of land and a tree line all around.....

Neighbors can't complain...noise ordinance only implies after midnight and my stereo doesn't crank quite THAT loud...
Can run around nekkid outside, if I so desire...is really fun in the rain! ubblove

And Faith...I can see not wanting to cook fish in the house, but bacon???
Some of my fondest memories have to do with waking up in the morning to the smell and sound of frying bacon... frown
Mmmmm.....sweet midget pickles!!! Must go get some!!!
I always ate the whole jar, too!!! tongue

Andy...you'll be out on your own soon enough...and will wish for the simpler times of youth...enjoy it while you can!!! hug

Faith...that is just wrong...
My house generally smells like coffee or scented candles and incense...
Get out again as quickly as possible...
And you absolutely MUST go running naked in the rain...is one of the great pleasures in life!!! Rain water actually has minerals in it that are considered to be healing, too!

Something else I like about having my own place...letting my cat's sleep in my bed whenever I want!!!

Walking around naked.
Being messy.

Other than that, living with my dad was cool enough. He's the one who told me that vanilla ice cream topped with hot chocolate sauce is the best breakfast and pancakes on Sundays a must.

Oh, but we used to fight for the tv remote control. I'm master at home now.

i been living back with my mum for 2 years now and i still retain my freedom but i do have some respect for my mum so i don't abuse my rights.

she knows i smoke the herb and i know she dosen't like it stinking out the house so i don't smoke it infront of her.

i don't come home roaring drunk, loud (unless you count me banging out tunes on my computer till the neighbours complain)

Bah..

Going where I like, with whom I like, taking whatever substances I like, the nakedness is a biggie... Having visitors over at midnight, having someone stay over in my bed, watching what movies I want, listening to my music, NOT listening to my parents music (and my mum's abysmal out of tune singing.. She's got a musical ear, but not a musical voice).

Basically, not having to compromise by behaviour by having to give into someone else's moral/ethical system, particularly when that system lies at loggerheads with my own.

I can't imagine living with my folks again.. They couldn't deal with who i am these days. smile

In a house filled with art students between the ages of 20 to 25, we got the best/worst idea ever.

Bad Porn Night.

It was supposed to be a monthly event. We'd get together, run to the local adult emporeum, and pick out the cheapest/cheesiest movie we could find. Then we would run home to put it on the big tv with surround sound, eat popcorn and giggle at the bad movie. The first time, it was three girls and one of my male roommates who we somehow conned into watching with us.

Yeah.....

The first movie TRULY lived up to the name of the event. Suffice it to say, BPN never became a repeat event after that night. It was fun and hillarious, but definitely something that would have never been possible at home. wink

Firebreathing indoors.

Throwing aerosols on the fire and blowing all the windows out.

Jumping through windows.

Pulling the doors off to go stair surfing.

Throwing a squat party in your own house.

Digging tunnels in the cellar.

Rolling 3 foot spliffs for someone's 21st.

Being dragged on a piece of carpet behind a car doing donuts on the back lawn.

I'm actually glad to be living with my parents (and surprised I got through college alive).

That's what happened when I left home and got a shared house at college. It was first time living away from home for all of us. Besides me there was Adam, Lee, Alex, Lou, Jamie, Sandy, Fliss and Hellie, and usually half a dozen friends sleeping over too.

I should have mentioned that there were about 50 fish, 30 snakes, 2000 mice, 5 rats, and 10 cats there as pets (or food for pets).

It's a good thing we had the same taste in music. I wired up all the stereos in the house and we played Smashing Pumpkins through them all as loud as we could. Good job the nearest neighbours were 1 1/2 miles away.
