I know what you mean.... makes me realise how rusty rough around the edges i am.... I suppose it's working on finishing the moves like that... that makes the difference....

Great stuff though.....

What I like about it is that it's not terribly technical (except the flowers). HE doesn't do a lot of high-order beat moves or BTB nonsense. He uses a lot of basic moves and just strings them together in an amazing way.

That inspires me. A lot.

After having a weekend long workshop with him, it's really amazing :O
I understood flowers and anti spin flowers after only doing some light stretching ubbloco
He uses alot of basic principles and somehow manages to make beautiful dancing out of it.
Have a half hour video of all of us spinning fire in a local park biggrin Truly incredible and it's not even edited or anything.

So glad I got to meet him at uberpoi ubblove

He (and Yuta also), but Nick origionally, totally inspired me to develop my poi in the way I have. To the point that I dislike all the techy, more show-offy spinning, and I only really go for the Tai chi spinning. I watch his vid about once a fortnight! In fact I think this video was the first time I actually saw someone else spin poi!

And ahh, yes the noobs!
Come to mention - surely there is a thread like this already existing?! Or maybe it's just the fact the video is refered to in a lot of threads.

Yes Nick is great! and knows his stuff.... he can do all the techy stuff but he's not trying to show off like myself smile He seems to have a mindset quite different then me, I come into Poi from the rave scene so I tend to be very techy but I'm tring to learn to balence it all out like Nick seems to do. I met him in Montreal and went to his work shops and spun with him and some friends in a little show for kids and there parents.

I hope to meet him again sometime and learn more.

Thanks Nick, you inspire us.

Wow. I should spend more time on these forums! biggrin

Thanks everybody. Truly nice to hear. I've started an official "Nick's Videos" thread: [Old link]

...I'll post new videos there from now on. Latest video is "When Circles Dream." https://playpoi.com/when_circles_dream

Oooh... and if you want to see me make more videos, link to playpoi.com if you can. I've put out my DVD now, and it's helping me dig my way out of debt. Links to playpoi will help with my whole world-peace-through-poi plot. bounce bounce bounce bounce

I've had some visions of the videos I want to make for years. With a little luck I'll be able to take it to the next level during the next year. Might be some special guests spinning with me biggrin
