On saturday night my girlfriend competed in the Miss Fulton County Pageant which is a preliminary for Miss New York State and then Miss USA. Personally I don't like the whole idea of these but you have to support those you care about. Anyway she spun poi for her talent and she won the talent portion of the pageant. Everybody loved it. In the end tho she didn't win which was a shock to alot of people there. I was so proud of her though. She ended up winning 600 dollars in scholarship awards for Miss Congeniality and Talent.

For her spin she wore a blue sequin costume and spun green beaming balls. We tried to get them to allow her to spin fire but that wasn't plausible inside a school. She spun to a portion of a Phish song called Cars, Trucks, Buses. She did great and had people cheering throughout her peformance.
I am so proud of her. She is entering a couple other pageants after doing so well at this one and hoepfully we can get a video of her spinning at the next one and we can get it on here. I just thought I would share this with you guys. smile

Corey I am so proud of you and you still never cease to aamze me. ubblove

Thats great dude, Congratulate her for us.

Also, i think we are going to have a few new spinners soon enough if she performed for a large crowd

i also don't like the idea of these things, but it obviously meant something to her, so good on her for doing it and being successful.

Yeah myco They pretty much teach people to be fake but since Corey is an acting major she can slip into roles easily so shes not normally so fake. I didn't realize the amount of money they give for scholarships tho and that is a good thing.

Well on a little follow up last night my girlfriend, Corey, competed in another pageant and won. She received a thousand dollars in scholarships and she'll be competeing in the Miss New York State pageant in June. As I said in my first post for her talent she is spinning poi and hopefully for this pageant she'll be allowed to spin fire. Since we'll have a good video of her talent at this competition I'll try and upload it so you guys can see. smile
