It certainly does sound gorgeous! Once again. Outdoor Hottubs! How happy am I! Luxury!

Of course I'll mind you Ado - I'll make sure you're not tied up (unless you want to of course!!!) Its going to be a very welcoming gathering so you don't need to worry. Perhaps bring a sleeping bag so that you can crash at the venue Sat night (I'm either planning to do that or party till morning and then go spend some time with my boy!)

very, very likely smile

i might turn up fairly late but it sounds like a beautiful party and i've been meaning to go to the 491 for aaaaaaaaages now.

what is 'playa attire' exactly?

do i have to dress like a crazy hippy wink or is 'no labels' about the sum of it?

i have a pair of spiffing goggles if that would help but they say 'oakley' on them so i'm not sure how well received they'd be...

peace

Playa attire - i.e make an effort to wear something fancy dress, and no not just fluffy fairy wings and hippy gear. Your spiffing goggles sound dandy. My ex is in London for a xmas party which is black tie so if he's coming to Burningman party he's going to be wearing his dinner jacket : ) Personally Cole I see you in a red mini dress and pigtails! Phowarrrr!

As someone who is still recovering from New York City's "Burningman Decompression Party"....

Can you put LONDON or UK or something in the title?

Otherwise you're just lieing. frown

THE Burningman Decompression Party is not in London. Nor is it on December 11th.

I'm sure somehow that this request will somehow require massive amounts of personal hate be dumped upon me but as someone with large ties to the Burningman Community I find this important.

Well, shall we go?
Yes, let's go.

there is no 'THE' in the title - no-one claimed it was THE burningman decopmpression party.

if you've already been to the nyc one, isn't it pretty obvious by the event date that this is a different party?

and being as both you and kat have been sharing this site for over 2 years, i'm sure you know that kat is from the uk and wouldn't be posting about events overseas that have already happened.

this is not hate dude - i ain't a playa hater (get it?? playa???? ahh, i crack me up... wink ) - this is a request for courtesy.

didn't your mummy ever teach you the magic word...?

your post could easily have read something like:

"kat - could you do me a favour and put 'uk' in your thread title please?

these parties happen worldwide and with no location listed until you click on and read the main thread, it could get a little confusing for some."

i think that reads a lot better than just pointing a finger and saying 'liar'.

Getting the post to submit was bloody frustrating! I did put LONDON Burning Man in the Title originally which then seemed to spit back at me repeatedly. As I put in the location - Leytonstone, London I thought people could clearly see that the party was in the UK as I can on my computer confused
Anyhow NYC - I think you're just been a moany mary as we still have a burningman party to look forward so tongue but apologies for adding to your Londoners think they are so much superior to New Yorkers complex biggrin

Coleman - brill costume biggrin Probably more fabulous than a red dress! Look forward to seeing it!

Ado - Hurrah! look forward to meeting you! I'll have someone who understands when I slur Slainte at them wink

Don't forget to order your party tickets in advance - no sales on the door but pick up on the door poss I believe!

It is absolutely disrespectful to the burner community to post a Decom announcement without differentiating it. If you want me to explain the logicstics of the regional burningman structure, I will.

there was lots of differentiation - you just had to go to the huge trouble of reading the first line of the first post wink

Written by: NYC

There are literally hundreds of "Burningman Decompression Parties" ALL of which must get approval from BMORG to even use the copyrighted word "Burningman" to promote an event.

cool - this is one of those parties.
no-one claimed it was the only one - you'd have to have made an assumption based solely on a one-line thread title on a poi spinning forum to come to the conclusion that it is the only burningman decompression party.

Written by: NYC

To post an event as 'Burningman Decompression Party' without indicating what subsection is an affront to other regionals.

i don't get why not putting a location in the title of a thread is an affront, but i do know in general, affronts are not cool.
but again, kat's post told you everything the official website does and more...

I also don't understand why, when I ask people to follow rules that are clearly listed on the site, I get yelled at.

I'm sad that people would rather get shouty with me than respect HoP's guidelines.

i didn't yell or 'get shouty' - THIS IS SHOUTY!
technically, i whisper all the time ubbrollsmile

i reckon if you were a mod, people would listen to your demands more - you do the job anyway so why don't you ask malcolm for an 'm'?
alternatively, you could try pressing the 'report post' button instead, then i wouldn't get the chance to react to your self-admitted anal attitude to the site rules when i should really be working! tongue

so anyway, what was the nyc burningman decompression party like?

Shame to see bad feelings in this thread frown London is firmly in the Title, The Location and The Header, PM has been sent to NYC, so lets get back to whats important..

..This is going to be the utterly fabulous 2nd London Burning Man Decompression Party. The organisors have been working their butts off to put on a special gathering and look forward to welcoming many happy souls to participate in this party.

As mentioned previously - this is a participants party so everyone present is responsible for creating the atmosphere and fun.

I've just received my ticket and there is a theme - The Vault of Heaven - interpret as you will, there is no need to dress with the theme but do please make some effort to wear a costume.

Event begins at 8pm - with some laidback entertainment & refreshments. Gift soup will be available for much of the evening and other food will be available. Your Rocket Sauce ticket will get you a complimentary Rocket Sauce. All other beers and cocktails will be supplied by reasonably priced bars.

- The lamplighting will commence at 10pm
- Costume Exchange / Photo Studio opens 10.30pm.

Some of the indoor spaces will be non smoking areas, indoor spaces will house various performances and events.
The Leave No Trace guidelines should be observed throughout the event. There will be plenty of well marked bins, please use them.
Keep checking https://euroburners.org/decompression
for updates
For those of you who aren't aware of what Burningman is about go to

Cole - thank you for being my knight in shining armour hug
Lisa Princess - did not get to talk properly at Synergy so really looking forward to seeing you and Mr. Coleman for a good chinwag and lots of these hug

I apologize if people are reading tone into this that was simply not there when I wrote it. I know Kat is not a liar. That's why I put frown after it. I meant it as a sad wink.

The rage and backlash against this post has been greater than any other thing I have done on HoP.

With all of the bigots and psychos that wander through HoP, I am saddened that me, simply asking for people to follow the HoP guidelines in a tone that people misinterpreted, has drawn such a violent reaction.

I can't imagine anyone else gettting such a reaction. Nor can I imagine me getting this reaction in any other situation on HoP.

I absolutely apologize to Kat for having this happen on her thread. I absolutely apologize to Kat for the tone she interpreted my initial post as.

But the number and intensity of the people that are coming out of the woodwork to take swings and jabs at me over something as small as this is personal and insulting.

Well, shall we go?
Yes, let's go.

I've no idea what was said in your deleted posts except for what Cole posted which made me disappointed and upset that you had not contacted me directly, which is why I sent you a PM. I'm not sure who has been taking swings and jabs at you (bar Cole and I and from what I have seen there should be no problems there, but if it helps I take back my comment about you being a moany mary wink ) So all friends and sweetness and light now?

So everyone lets all kiss and make up shall we (no tongues please) and get back to bigging up how absolutely fabulous the London Burningman Decompression Party is going to be

Navy Dress Suit sounds cool - but not comfortable is not pleasant! Theme is Vault of Heaven so you could go with a religious theme and dress as a priest / nun! If totally without inspiration, why not borrow a friend / sisters dress, bit of lippy, some fishnets and you're laughing : ) I'll also have body paints with me so you can fashion youself that loincloth and we can make you very colourful.
