right said fred. some videos for you:

25/9/05 - Orbit has very kindly uploaded all of these videos to a server from where they are downloadable. many thanks to him for doing so

26/05/06 - videos working again, thanks hyperlight and fni for uploading them onto servers this time hug

hug from oli and ros. right click and download to save them,

stix n sox - this is an old one, filmed back in march. features oli walking round a sock, a tree, and russel being silly (7:44, 52mb (for now..))

not a sock in sight - features 3 minutes of oli spinning fire, too fast. i wanted to not do any editing to this, but ended up editing out one bit where i got sketchy in a tangle, this ruins the flow a bit. this video uses the tried and tested formula, fire poi + trance = video, so dont expect anything original. (3:06, 8.4mb)

at the bottom of a cliff - oli spinning socks. if this looks a) messy b) out of control c)like the sketchyest poi ever, then thats because it is. theres some cool bits amongst the maddness though. my excuse for the general ragedness of it, is the wind wink. also some bits are out of focus, becuase when i started filming the sun was out but it promptly went in and it got a bit dark for autofocus. look out for floppy sock. i have one major criticism of this video (aside from it being messy) but im not going to tell you what it is because im not sure how obvious it is. things i learnt making this video: staying upright on pebbles is hard. anyway i hope you have as much fun watching this as i did making it. (8:36, 25mb) ubbloco

the taste of lyme - quick film featuring ninja dave (1:10, 3mb)

strange things happen - this was nearly 'zest of lyme' but daves too slack. this is apparently the first online film appearance of ros (fluffy naplam fairy), she spins poi (and sticks) properly and it rocks smile its quite long because choosing which bits you dont want is hard, so sorry about that. its got some nice views at funny angles in it too, next time the world wont look like its flowing off one side of the shot, i promise. cool (9:00, 24mb)

dinosaurs ate my circles - features a small white fluffy dinosaur and ros and oli doing some tricks with poi in the suuuunnnn biggrin. (8:13, 40mb) or smaller more compressed flash version - made very kindly by matt on www.spherculism.com.

sending signals to spaceships - the video that was then wasnt and now is. ros and oli flag down some passing aliens and teach them how to spin. if anyone knows the music please tell me.

remember: criticism is cool ubbrollsmile and its nice when the sun comes out sunny

Love all the pendulm stuff and the same direction throw/catches- have you got your left doing them yet?- if not DO! NOW! It makes things so wonderfully silly biggrin

Your general flow is lovely now- more movement and grace which I like lots.

I need to practice biggrin

*le sigh*..........

oli ubblove as always I am beside myself - flowers not so sketchy but still need work wink Crazy inside stuff that I can't get my head around looking very smooth - especially suicide-type stuff in the first section biggrin How do you manage to make that stuff flow? tis all part of the Oli magic........

Sunny, happy, smiley, bouncy, technically incredible, inspiring wonderful spinning. Maybe nice to have a few different angle shots to make the vid a little more relaxed n involved to watch but other than that I can't fault it or your spinning biggrin except to say don't forget how much you can link and move between your new accomplishments...... I know how well you do the weave and didn't spot it once wink

love you and will spend much time gazing at this in the near future.........

Great spinning as always. Most of it was beyond my comprehension but I simply enabled oli-vision, simply sat back and watched rather than understand.

that's the crazies vid i've seen.... ^_^
you've never thought about playing it a bit slower? ._." pleeease....
i've got to watch it in slow-mo to apprehend some of those moves. and you keep a nice steady flow even in that speed >_< it's maby the best poi i've seen, but i think some of the stalls, for exemple, will look even better when done a little bit slower.

or am i just thinking this becaus emy own spin-style is relatively slow with lots of stalls =7

i's a damn great vid! hope you can get that cam fixed soon.

fire is just light and heat.
it's you friend!

I agree with Glass but want to elaborate a bit on that point...

Oli, youre obviously very talented with all the tech stuff but despite what others are saying, Ive always felt a lack of flow in your style. You can no doubt transition nicely through all your moves but, to me, flow is more than that. Its about presenting a well rounded routine with ups and downs, creating unique patterns which are visually stimulating, and being able to compliment that with your body movement. Your style comes off a bit hectic and confusing to me, even though I know whats going on. Imagine what a lay person must see.

Personally, I think you could benefit greatly from taking a break from tech for a while. Go back to the roots. Try spinning without isolations, tangles, and inversions for a few weeks. Once you can amaze your friends asthetically, go back and find ways to incorporate your technical knowlege into that. Tech moves usually look much better when incorporated into a flowy routine than when they're all strung together if you know what I mean. Its like when a DJ drops a beat before the climax of a song its great right? But what if he did it like 20 times per song?

On the other hand, maybe hectic and confusing is what youre after, in which case Id say youre doing a good job... But thats just my constructive criticism if youre willing to take it.

Now, Im not gonna just sit here and tell you what I think you could improve on. I also wanna say that I really liked the first 50 seconds or so of the Jun21 vid. Some really nice patterns in there. In fact, Ive been working on a similar buzzsaw stall pattern recently but you seem to have it down much nicer than I. I hope you dont mind if I simulate your technique smile

Hey Oli

Dude, that was mental - i span poi in ireland and thought to myself....."yeh i remember this stuff, isnt it easy"

Youve just broken my head dude - some of the stuff in there was mentally smooth - your isolatining seems like your standard spin these days and the whole inverted box type isolations were just eek

Our bandwidth is off till friday but i will put it up on soton after that biggrin

Truley and insperation - keep it up cool

**puts poi down and picks up staffs**
