What's the cheapest thing I can buy for a shake-off can?

Hmmm, depends how big your poi are - Tesco Value Baked Beans come in at 9p a can.

Something larger? I use Huge Coffee tins taken from work.

Durbs, you are clearly a genius.

I'm fairly new to the concept of not wasting fuel and was assuming a paint purchase would be required.

Thanks man smile

NYC uses a plastic bottle with a cut down the side from the top to halfway down where a hole makes inserting the wick easy. The chain comes out the top and you spin it round.

Very easy and effective.

Oh yes - word of warning - bean cans are very sharp, handle and spin with care!

I have to say, I never thought of using plastic.

Somthing I picked up from [Old link]:
Take an empty largeish citronella jug (or anything comparable really but if you're buying fuel anyway...)
Cut a hole in the top big enough to stick the wicks through, but leave the handle intact. Attach a piece of rope to the handle. Make sure it is at least as long as your chains.
Ideally they should be long enough so that you can stick your poi in the jug and spin these all together as one. If you hold both the handles and the rope the poi should be a couple of inches from the bottom of the jug.
Spin and pour out excess.
Happy wallet, happy ground, happy EPA.

Good ideas one and all

When I can afford a 9p can of beans (not really, but when I can afford a £1.50 bottle of fuel) I'll try a few out. Someone told me an airtight plastic bag sealed at the top is a good one too.

The bottle ideas sound really good smile Ah, just think what I can do with that extra burn... so much time, so little body-hair...
