I have been long known in my family for mixing odd things in sandwiches. When I was small I used to love lettuce & marmite, marmite & peanuts, blackcherry or plum jam & cucumber, banana & honey, cheddar sprinkled with sugar.

Today I found that Peanut butter and wild chestnut honey on rye bread is YUMMY! ubbrollsmile

It got me wondering if anyone else does the mix and match sandwiches like me.

On the radio the other day they ate a toasted mayonaise and kitkat sandwich umm

Other than that i don't know, i don't go in for strange sandwiches. But i do like Hot chocolate (has to be a certain kind) with cheese in the bottom.

You've obviously never lived in a house where it's possible to find eight disparate food items and a loaf of bread when you wake up to late to get any thing to make a meal from... (Apart from the toasties. i've been eating them for years and been getting funny looks every time. And banana and crisp. that came from red dwarf, and is suspiciously nice)

But there's no sense crying over every mistake. You just keep on trying till you run out of cake.

How horrible is that?

And Skully is right, marmite does go with everything.

mmm... marmite, tomato and cheese on toast... marmite and cucumber.. and cheese...

hazlenutty wafer roll things dipped in marmite..... hmm... wonder if it's work with hazlenutty spread in that case...

salt and vinegar crisps and apple jolly ranchers - not a sandwich that one though...

my brother used to eat sandwiches filled with nesquik powder - not the most nutritous of combos though.

tomato ketchup flavour crisp and brown sauce sandwiches. I don't like "tangy" stuff, but the other night this was godlike.

My Dad use to eat Plum Jam & ham sandwiches. It was plum jam mainly because one year our plum tree went crazy and produced so many fruit we had to make jam with them and I don't just mean a jar or 2 we must have had about 50 odd large jars of the stuff. We had Plum Jam on everything for a very long time!

University Catering do all of our sandwich lunches - they have some weird varieties of veggie stuff but so far the oddest combination has been wholemeal bread filled with couscous, prunes and sundried tomato. Weird, but strangely enjoyable...
