I just came home from the hospital, took off my white coat and stethoscope, and hung them on the back of my closet, took my ID card out of my little ID badge holder and popped in my wallet. I will not use any of these items (except maybe the ID card) until July 6.



Third year of medical school is arguably the most stressful year of medical training. You work like you've never worked before and 12-hour days are par for the course. Heck, 32 hour days are par for the course! To add to it, every move you make you are being evaluated on 10 different criteria ranging from patient relations to medical decision-making ability. 30% of students become clinically depressed during this year. It is sheer hell...and yet it's fun.



And I survived.
