I personally witnessed extreme gluttony of monumental proportions, UCOF just munched a whole pallete of strawberries, with a whole tub of cream, shortly followed by a selection of miniture muffins soaked in the remainder of the offending cream.

Built like a monkey, eats like an American (no offence).

I eat alot for a girl, i'm not skinny by any strech, but as long as i'm not eating KFC for three meals a day i don't generally get too fat... have been putting on a few kilo's in the last couple months though though lack of movement due to sprained ankle and lack of motivation to cook one-person meals due to lazyness...

And i think UCOF should be a mushroom and lentil pie, just cuz it's a good kind of pie to be.

Nononono! Banoffee Pie is the best in the world. Surely you can all see that!!!??!?!?

Chocolate Fudge Brownie pie comes a close second after that, and Lemon Meringue comes a paltry third!

No, a tart is open-faced and a pastry is smaller and thicker than a pie. A pie is covered and has a filling...possibly meat, or vegetable or fruit.

BJ, ever had sweet potato pie? I don't think they really have sweet potatoes or yams in Europe. They're an American crop. Sweet potato pie is savory enough to be a side and yet at the same time sweet enough to be a dessert. It's one of many traditional dishes made for the American Thanksgiving holiday and until you've had it, you cannot know what the best pie is.

Pickled red cabbage? eek OMG, WTF is wrong with you Limeys?!?!? wink biggrin hug2

Now, back to UCOF and his pie-ness...

UCOF may or may not be a pie, but he is most DEFINATELY a tart.

Nothing beats potatoe pie, with lashings of butter *drools*. I tell you what the WORST pie is though, strawberry pie! It sounds nice but the strawberrys loose all there sweetness and turn into this mushy pulpi texture which is just gross!

Mike we have PLENTY of Sweet Potatoes, I find them best steamed in its skin and eat it like that.

Yams not so widespread but available in most Asian supermarkets but it is a nice stewed with belly pork.

Red Cabbage is alright in small doses but Jalapenos are the best!

'Limey'? I've seen you use SEVERAL traditionally British colloquialisms - TART being one of them! (I think)

Flan usually has an open top but 'Pecan Flan' doesn't have quite the same ri.... actually it sounds better now that I say it. Probably too many participles to pronounce...

The Pie/Flan thing isn't set in stone. Eccles Cakes aren't really cakes. And don't get me started on those appled-filled monstrosities at McDonalds
