Tell us all about it! We love hearing about our fellow poiers/staffies/misc. toyers succeeding with new things biggrin

It's just hard to keep up with it all sometimes, so if we keep it together you'll be certain to get a little feedback.

yeah yeah, no biggy to the rest of you, but in my search for flowers expertise and tips, I came across the butterfly weave... I kept on being unable to get out of a 4-beat rhythm, until I clicked that as long as I got the TTN part right, and then moved out of the TTN with my left hand first, I would get the 3-beat right.

... as with most poi moves, it just friggin happened!

www.domorepoi.com also helped quite a bit....

that's what i was doing when i met rob for the first time - he came over and said "i've been playing with that too".

in some ways, that first conversation has never actually ended... wink

i learnt more bits of antispin - i can now do the weave crossover from right to left (poi spinning backwards) - which means i'm nearly at the point where i can spin in antispin for a while with turns and all that like what that monkey and rev can do smile

Thanks cole. Am finding it a little harder than I originally thought. Its one of these moves I can do when I don't think about it.

Just accidentally figured out butterfly hyperloops.

Been doing butterfly airwraps for ages - now I get it I cant believe that its taken me so long to work out the tiny progression.

We seem to be a very select group of individuals although I'm mostly working on traps and stuff like that. It seems to be a little bit more mind bendy when you start doing butterfly time contact stuff.

eh? sounds wonky. that's one handed to two handed? and in general to you wibblers, if it's not on fire and has weighted handles, why is it not a meteor move? wink

I've been making comlpex patterns with by mix-matching parts of compound circles (flowers, buzzsaw fountains, and the like). I just need more practice in open spaces so I can really work with this. I also have been working on 180 and 360 degree pirouettes from any more. I think this will make my spinning much more dynamic.

Oh and I can do fwd & rev, 3 bt & 5 beat, 1st degree inversion in a weave now and I can turn them. I also fuond some pretty neat uses for inversions in atoms.

Turning anti spin Flowers. And reverse antispin Flowers. smile

I could feel these coming on ages ago, but only tonight have I decided they're solid enough to post...

Also (thanks to Bluecat) learnt to do the inside-out airwrap, (as well as the outside-in airwrap that I could already do) which stops me doing a not so nice (but kinda inconspicuous to the untrained eye) plane break when doing continual airwraps...

Also learnt about Insides, and how to recognise them as well.

All sorts of Geekery, really...
