I got the dvd a couple of days ago and it does truly kick arse. I personally liked the rendering error one with crazy things happening in the house. Although the sword fight in the first one is awesome

i like the double-parter about the machine revolution. i really liked the mix of anime and modern western style minimalist computer animation.

and the crazy anime fantasy styled fight one was very cool too

Does anyone know:
did different studios do them all? were the anime style ones actually japanese, or western studios doing the anime style?

I saw the final flight of osiris when it was on TV the other day... very wicked! really enjoyed the falling scene, and in fact the fight scene where they some how manage to end up naked!

Always good...

Need to get hold of the other annimatrix clips. Might buy it, but its more likely that i'll look for it online. would be good to hear if its worth buying

Cheers

am totally in love with the 'online' scene (6':35" in it) in the aeon fluxy episode 'matriculated'
if you look really closely at the background during the first chase scene, the complex is totally made up of H R Giger's biomechanics.

Despite not liking the reloaded film, I liked the animatrix so much I bought it as soon as I'd watched half of one

Favourites are final flight of the osiris and the 2 about the machine revolution.
Having said that, they're all damn good - I am incredably impressed with all 9

But there's no sense crying over every mistake. You just keep on trying till you run out of cake.

my favourites are 'matriculated' and 'beyond'

i'm fairly sure the artists who worked on matriculated have taken hallucinogenic substances at some point.

and beyond just had a surreal, magical feel to it, when they're playing around in the rendering error.

presumably for the same reason that women can't state things plainly
