I love haggis. At school once a month they gave us this scrumptious serving of greasy haggis that was just fantastic. Most people would get school dinners on a haggis day just because it was the best meal they could make.

At some point, an association was formed in my head between this thread and the "Fart Smells" thread.

And as for Mr. Dragosani, as I noted in the "London Underground announcements" thread, again I notice this rather unusual familiarity that the good people of the British Isles have with the finer workings of sheep. We good Americans just aren't as familiar with these particulars... shrug ubbangel

1) Neither of us is damned straight and 2) I can't compete with you on either sheep or sequin-loving.

3) Or on offal and innards loving.

Americans arnt very adventuerouse with food are they? Thats the impression I get when they turn theire noses up at tripe, or pickled cabbage, jelly'd eels, or something else unusually englishy.

You know looking at that list, ignorent english people allways knock the french for eating anything that moves (horses, snails) but we eat some weird stuff too like pigs trotters, black pudding (congeled pigs blood, flour, an and union or two mixed in) and all sorts. We're worse arnt we?

Yanno, come to New York. There's chinese, japanese, indian, and thai restaurants everywhere you look. And to add to that, ethopian, afthani, caribbean, etc.

It's not that we aren't adventurous...we just know that (barring Fish and Chips) English food sucks. Hell, even the English realize it! Why has Indian replaced your own cuisine as the British national cuisine, hmm? ubbrollsmile

It's not really that, it's just that Pumpkins aren't as widely available over here except around halloween (bloody typical). The rest of the year we make do with butternut squash. Which itself is delicious...

A local delicacy from south wales is cockles and Laverbread. Laver is a type of seaweed. fry them in a pan with streaky bacon and serve with fried eggs or scrambled eggs and vinegar. delicious!
