Ok, I'm after a bit of assistance from people who live in or have been to Australia and/or New Zealand.

I'm looking to have a few weeks down that way at someo point next year, the only problem being, what time of year to travel??

Is it noticeable cheaper during the off peak season? If so, what is the off-peak season?

Ideally I'd rather not be there in mid summer, I'd melt in a drippy pool on the steps coming off the plane, I don't want to have to explain that to an irate pilot! ubblol

Also, let me know what places you'd suggest that I visit so I can try and organise some kind of list of to do's.

Cheers peeps!

hug

Don't forget to look me up if passing through Auckland.

Watch out. His son chucks things at you and drools on you. And Mrs Charles is the 3rd best cook in the world. So if you eat with them then you may never want to leave...

Out of curiosity, who are the first and second best?

And, more importantly, do they fit in to the category of Australia/New Zealand residents?

If so, I need to add them into my list of people to meet! wink

*******ANOTHER UPDATE*******

I will be arriving in Christchurch on June 15th with the lovely miss Roarfire (assuming that she's not sick of me by then! ubblol )

At somepoint between then and June 22nd, I will be censored myself at the prospect of hurling myself off a bridge with only a glorified elastic band to stop me splatting on the ground below, while Steph will be laughing at me being a big girlie! rolleyes

If you're up the Whitsunday's way go on a maxi yaught around the islands; you'll spend about 3-4 nights on board, stop off at various islands, have a laugh and it costs about $300.
Airlie is full of places that flog the trips, I've seen 7 night cruises to Fraser Island advertised for $450 at Reefos Hostel (do not stay there though; I've just spent a week on anti-histamenes after having a massive allergic reaction to the bed bugs in that place).

Another thing you might want to consider is staying at the YHA in Mackay and doing they tour they do up to Broken River to see the platypus frolic.

Just have fun.

There is a slight possibility that I am not actually right all of the time.
