So as i began to learn fire play with some mini fire sticks i have i was using lighter fluid on the wick just for promotional photo purposes (not for eating, fire painting, etc....) But what i am now wondering is even though i have already been using new fire sticks since i progressed onto eating, & fire play i am wondering if i should just trash the old sticks i had dipped in the lighter fluid out or if i could still keep them around and use them with kerosene. I am not sure if the wick can be cleaned at all and if so how, as well if i there might be some residue left of lighter fluid on the sticks and by me applying the kerosene over it and eating it, there being a "not too great" outcome. Feedback is greatly appreciated. =o)

Just burn them a few times with kero, and all the lighter fluid will burn away.

Were these home made sticks or professionally made sticks?
If they are home made ones, and you really feel like it, you can just replace the wicking.

All in all it doesn't matter much either way, like Nantheos said, just burn a few times with Kero and you'll be fine.

Good deal, thanks. My wands are not home made, i ordered them. I think i will actually just replace the wick. I actually want to try re-wicking them differently anyways due to the exposed metal on the end. The structure of the metal is similar of a nail with a head so i want to try getting some more wick and carrying it over the top of the wand first then wrapping it around and binding it. Any suggestion on what size Kevlar is more flexible to "play with"? Thanks =o)

yeah, if you're gonna be firebreathing or fire eating, i dont recommend lighter fluid. It makes for a good flame, but it makes your lips numb and nothing tastes right for a day or two. i havent used anything else yet though, so let me know how it goes

Definately! I already ordered some different wick anywho. The lighter fluid is aok for fire "painting" which i do but i have never nor will never try eating with it. I have another ? this time with residue left behind after fire painting. I currently use Lamp oil only for fire eating but was wondering if it would leave my skin cleaner than the lighter fluid since it is very smoky or which fuel would be best for that? Thanks again peoples ::winks::
