You can't avoid pain by fencing yourself from it.
Some times you need the help of others more than anything else
But you have to let them close enough to help......
People want to be needed, I found that out too

You should listen to the hopper of grass.

he speaketh the truth.

Go out and play.

or stay in and play.

unles syou are on a wireless network laptop and in the garden.

In which case.

Go in and play.

Or stay out and play.

Play with one poi. move around it and let it move around you.
try both sometimes.

as everybody else, i say: practice!

cut the moves into smaller part and practice each part separately.
the btb weave for example: start with the right hand, and practice to make nice circles at your right side and your left, btb, side. practice that till you feel that you wont be able to lift a paper because you've been working so much with your arm. then do the same with your left. not till after that, try to make the move complete. first just a 2-beat and after that, a 3-beat.

it really helps a lot to simply think about the problem too. watch movies. concentrate how they move their hands, if you cannot imitate that, you will definitely not make it with poi in your hand.

so practice and practice and everything will work!

fire is just light and heat.
it's you friend!

Sometimes I work on something hard for 15 minutes, then go take a nap. Dreams help! I can do stuff in my dreams that I can't in waking life. Try again upon waking biggrin

Closer than before? Cuz dreams come true. ubbangel

I AM working.

Even when you're not able to get something you're still improving. And doing any spinning, even stuff you know well, will make you better in general. Don't stress about it, come back to it in a while and it'll come... everyone hits a plateau in their spinning once in a while smile

Leave it for a day, and when you are more relaxed go back to it, as I found with alternate butterfly, when I was annoyed about not being able to get the move, I couldnt, but I left it for a few days, calmed down about it, and when I went back to it I understood the move a little more....
hope that makes sense

Like what most people have been saying,
practise, go away and do something else or practise something else, then go back to it.

Unfortuantly there is no miracle way to get new moves quickly.

Watch videos or watch your friends. It always helps me to see what someone else is doing that i cant see myself doing. Or spin in front of a mirror. Saw a guy going btb hyperloops this weekend at Playa Del Fuego as well as under the leg hyperloops and some stuff off the spinach sessions. Was really great! Good to see ya online hoppah and fische!

[I'm still so confused as to where you were at PDF.]

That was probably ICoN busting out the crazy hyperloops. We had a decent sized posse and were rocking out most of the weekend. Totally inspirational indeed.

What everyone else said, unfortunatley. Just get better and better at moving, switching between every move you know and turning with every move you know. Practice bending backwards and forwards within moves, take-out sequences which are basically endless... work on favourite combos or patterns, come up with a routine for a particular tune or whatever.

A few weeks ago I posted a message a bit like this, and I have to say that when people told me that "I have all the colours - now go paint" it was inspirational. Even on a bad day I know that by practising I'm getting smoother and better.

I'm off to practise buzzsaws. I'm either going to have the hyperloop this time next week, or I'm going to become a band of travelling acrobats. Which doesn't work. So the hyperloops better had!

What a wonderful miracle if only we could look through each other's eyes for an instant.

I'm working on drums now. Was last month, and it helped much in the way of my poi / stick skills
