This space is for all those funksters busy improving their technique by learning new moves - made-up or traditional.

Tell us all about it! We love hearing about our fellow poiers/staffies/misc. toyers succeeding with new things biggrin

It's just hard to keep up with it all sometimes, so if we keep it together you'll be certain to get a little feedback.

here a pat on the back in advance from me

I'm super excited because I finally just learned how to do a low wave and a behind the head wave. It took me a few tries but I got it! Yay! And I've started working on some transitions to get me in and out of different moves, so now I can actually dance through a whole song without having to stop in between moves. I must say, I've never been more excited or had mor fun learning something as I am about learning poi spinning. It rocks my pants off.

Just learned BTB Weave. Don't you love the feeling of breaking into a trick where it all just sort of clarifys and becomes easy? ^^. Sore from lack of flexibility though ^.^!!

I love that feeling. Last week I stood around giggling like a schoolgirl as I discovered how purposefully control hyperloop throws. I must have stood there for half an hour playing with the same move over and over. biggrin

erm... calling it that because i'm not 100% sure of the right name... but I think it's the inverted atomic weave. Was covered in a workshop by fenfire at last PLAY... confirmation anyone?

If straight jacket is that thing where you do a kind of weavy shoulder reel with your hands in your armpits, then I just learned that. Sweet

sounds more like a huggy or crossover, a straitjacket is the same but inverted, so you have arms folded into themselves

thanks simta. so many moves so many more names.

also learnt to move the huggies in small circles in front of me last night. And made my first step towards something a little special. some sort of anti-spin hybrid butterfly thing coutesy of nate. my first hybrid. *giggles with glee* or *roars triumphantly*, whichever seems more fitting. I think giggling.

Got my first success with te fwd 3bt btb weave last night. Everything just fell into place, and I managed the 360 turn while weaving btb. Also did my first body wrap from a rvs 3bt btb - feels very smoothe.
