Butterfly flowers, both where your arms are going in the same direction and where they're going in the opposite direction. Oddly easy to get - I'd be suspicious but I got a second opinion and they're right ubblol

Now to work on that reverse wall plane antispin weave simian showed me last night...

How do you get butterfly with both arms going the same way? Isn't that a butterfly fountain or is there something that I'm being really silly and missing?

Let's relight this forum ubblove

yes, you are being a silly dunc tongue

the whole hands together vs. hands apart thing

if you keep your arms opposite each other and do same direction longarm you get a 'same direction bf flower'.

if you keep you hands together and do the same thing, you have to know firstly how to bf weave in wall plane and then, once you can transition from one side to the other smoothly, you will have yourself a 'bf fountain'.

i ain't learnt nuffin.

but i did work out for myself that forwards glides start looking 10 times better if you lean back.

need to watch more usher videos frown/:)

Nobody needs to watch more Usher videos. First it's glides, then you'll be getting gold teeth to be like Lil Jon. It's a slippery slope you just don't want to start on.

Is a butterfly weave transition also called warrior? Or is it something different?

Start with foward butterly longarm in the wall plane i.e. arms at 3 and 9 o'clock. Then you can either turn your arms in a big circle as if you were doing a normal flower or bring them both up to 12 o'clock which is what you're doing?

I small feat for the rest of you, I'm sure, but all I've been able to get for the past month was the 2 beat. I suppose I should have got the sock poi sooner. I got the stuff to make LED socks, so hopefully I can take the socks into the club soon, instead of just the comets

What exactly do I have to light on fire to get you to notice me?

lol, so now I feel like a complete idiot... let me tell my story....

today, since I finally "got" the 3bt, I of course was giddily doing it for long periods of time. and suddenly I couldn't remember how to do the 2bt. then I realized, my hand motions were identical. I thought "what the heck is this?" so I went back to the tailed poi, and sure enough, it turns out I've been doing 3bt al lthe time, I just didn't know it. because the strings on the tailed poi are black, I couldn't tell for sure how many times the poi were flying overhead. so I got all excited for nothing.

lol but to make it worse for linden, I actually just kind of naturally got the weave. I didn't realize what I was doing because of the way the video taught it. I got it by just crossing the poi in front of me and making a kind of figure 8 on it's side. after a few seconds of doing that, I just kind of naturally shifted to the poi chasing each other instead of crossing each other, and lo and behold , I had the weave (which I thought at the time was only the 2bt).

What exactly do I have to light on fire to get you to notice me?

lmao smile i jsut hate it when you learn a move go back to it and cant do it then spend a frustrated 2 minutes hitting yourself - ah well
can get 5 bt with tails which is cool - just need to figure out it in reverse - i cant make the poi cross over on the last beat on either side which is annoying as i hit myself in the face instead.

that and i wanna try and get the btb weave and maybe do some stuff with buzz saws

been working on stuff where one poi dosn't follow the other at all but goes off on it's own thing for a bit before coming back together. under the leg stuff and stepovers and things. btb under the leg. utl crossers (kinda. can't think of a better name yet.) and old school contact poi like dantana did in some vid i can't seem to find, where your hands are always in contact with your body. and tangled butterflies with wraps in. and 3 petal flowers (it's all in the elbows. and you can make 6 petal flowers). and them without turning. which are easier.

First post! Here's a list of the moves that I've got down in the past 2week:
7beat weave (hell yeah! -- though very sloppy)
fountain (also with 5beat weaves instead of 3)
flower (with antispin)
btb weave (hurts)
buzzsaw (only one way)

:P And that seems to be the big trend on the HoP forums...
And I've had no new moves since I got my hyper loops fairly clean...and that one strange move...alternate direction 2 bt weave...also smashed my leg up on that one...note to self, I have REALLY gotta stop trying new moves with beamers...
I'm hoping once it gets a bit nicer outside that I can start work on my flowers...

LOL @ Flid

btb wallplane tangles.

T wave

with both poi going clockwise in front of me split time, when you put both behind your back you can easily tangle strings if they stay split time. The strings hit and you throw the whole tangle in frotn of your body on the rt, hand side, really reachy with left hand. It will untangle in front of you. TRy split time in frotn of you behind and then overhead in order.

dont make peoples heads turn, give them whiplash.

Whoa! Long thread!! ubbrollsmile
I been having much fun this morning with a 3bt counter-time (is that where the poi spin in opposite directions?) weave! Then I dropped my poi off the balcony! Whoops! frown
Also just kinda managed an under the legs and around the back weave type thingy.
Still can't get reels though! redface

If the poi are spinning in opposite directions sounds like you're talking about a butterfly weave.

Got my first antispin flowers and BTB wallplane tangles where the tangle then untangles in the front wall plane rather than BTB. Which looks nifty in waist wraps.
