This space is for all those funksters busy improving their technique by learning new moves - made-up or traditional.

Tell us all about it! We love hearing about our fellow poiers/staffies/misc. toyers succeeding with new things biggrin

It's just hard to keep up with it all sometimes, so if we keep it together you'll be certain to get a little feedback.

here a pat on the back in advance from me

almost can turn from forward btb weave to reverse btb weave with some consitancy. dont know why that turn is so freaking weird feeling...that and the other way...something just doesnt feel right. that and flowers are next on my list...they just look to damn cool not to learn. i still need to figure out what the hell and antispin is and some of the other weird things ive read about flowers. just normal flowers are not seeming like enough of a challange....someone give me something else to learn that doesnt require me to dilocate my sholders...aka 5 beat btb weaves.

hey since you understand.. why havent you replied to the inversions thread.. I posted the 3bt and 5bt antipin inversions there.. i'd like some feedback.. positive or negative nana

oh and I got some other goodies for you guys..

halo (or whatever you want to call it.. its not the flaminghalo but close.. which is why I call it that) take a tangle wallplaned... shrink it til its poi head on poihead.. take it around the head.. when bth let it expand so that the poi spin a circle slightly larger than your head.. and shrink it back as it comes to the front around the other side..

eclipse (or whatever) this one is a bit harder.. take a wallplaned tangle around the head.. but shrink it when it gets bth and expand it back as it comes aorund to the front.. ubbloco

enjoy..

Ahh the Nakedness! ubblol

Well I'm a skinny rake and so alot of my clothes are quite baggy.

I practice poi sometimes before I go to bed and sometimes jump up in the middle of the night to try a move!

I found that no clothes menas the poi rarely get caught on me but when I try them in the morning I can't do them as I have baggy clothes on. biggrin

Anyway just got up from my desk at work and can do them fully clothed now! bounce

ok so i just mastered an internal butterfll stall

start of doing a buz-saw, wrap one poi around the same bi-cep, i.e right poi tp right bi-cep, then just bring them down together, looks real smooth, and its a noce way to change directions....

You can't avoid pain by fencing yourself from it.
Some times you need the help of others more than anything else
But you have to let them close enough to help......
People want to be needed, I found that out too

I do this as well ubblol Although I'm a bit more wary since practising those thru wraps on the thigh, not managing to move my leg in time and giving myself an exceedingly painful whack on the nads eek

k - yesterday i heard of butterfly weaves for the first time, so i went home and tried it and after a few mis-starts got it. they feel really cool. though now i'm having trouble even imagining what a 3bt bf weave looks or goes like...
anyway - i'm happy, i can do the 2bt version. yeay.

a 4 twist butterfly hypeloop. its got a nice spiraling effect as the poi get shorter as they twist up and longer as they untwist.

infinate one handed BF hyperloop (although only forwards as backwards infinate still won't work, I cant make them go where I know they need to go! rolleyes) and then making the poi go in a strange bi-axis cicle plane that I can't explain, and which is hard as fook to make it continuous.

Inverted isolated buzzsaw thingie but going in from one side and immediately back out the same side, forcing a weird hyperloop before turning and pulling it back through buzzsaw plane and exiting on the opposite side. I think it's pretty similar to oli-ing but a little different.

Vertical hyperloops under the arm exiting above the head, nice way to enter a matrix too smile
