Hey guys! Thought I'd throw me 2p in while I'm here!
On the whole I like to spin to pretty much anything that falls under IDM, Glitch, New Age etc. But lately I've been playing around with spinning to more Classical music. So the other day I had a spin whilst listening to Ludovico Einaudi and I thoroughly enjoyed it!

Good artists for me are thirty seconds to mars, taking back sunday, anberlin, and panic at the disco
Specific songs: "From Yesterday" (30 seconds to mars), "Paperthin hymn" (Anberlin) "I caught fire" (The used) "It's all the same" (Sick puppies)

It depends where I'm twirling. If I am aranged to spin at a party I normally ask the person who hired me what kind of music they like, and then i look if that's ok for spinning. Otherwise it depends on the kind of toys I'm using. Light/flowpoi -> tecno, rave, tectonic car fuel/ gassoline on firepoi -> short big flames -> ( quite fast) metal&rock -> Mötörhead, Billy Talent Disel on firepoi-> orange, longer lasting flame -> "softer music" -> Red Hot Chili Peppers, Bob marley, Fire Breathing -> epic, monumental music -> In Extremo (herr Mannelig), Turisas (to Holmgard)

Nice In Extremo LED or practice -> Basshunter Fire (have not lit yet) -> probably nothing, Basshunter, or tribal sounding music Fire Breathing -> None, just let the fire speak for itself

I love to spin to Basshunter too I also like to spin to video game music, Tetris, and lots of techno. Music that makes you feel like getting up and dancing is what I like to dance poi to.

Here're some good mid-tempo songs that get me dancin' like a fool: "Kyoteizinc" by Omodaka (Chiptune meets Enka) "Inertia Creeps" by Massive Attack (Dark downtempo/triphop/goa vibe) "Feels Just Like It Should" by Jamiroquai (Can't help but dance to this one) "Divine Moments of Truth" by Shpongle (It was mentioned here before, but it definitely bears repeating).

I've really been getting into Gogol Bordello. They are pure win! If you listen to this music and aren't filled with the urge to grab a partner, jump on the nearest table and dance away then you are a cold heartless person on the inside! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=elyQ4ShVw-Yhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sM1Ahn0OsjoThey have so much heart and soul, you can feel it in every song. Whenever I've got my iPod on and I'm listening to these guys while spinning, it's hard to stop! Gypsy punk FTW!

Yeah, Infected Mushroom is great (just in general), my current favorite is "Illuminaughty" from the Converting Vegetarians album (their best album IMO).

Amazingly, and totally against everything I stand for, Trance is one of my favourite things to spin to, especially anything by the Artist ASTRIX. However there is one song to which i think i do my best spinning, I dont know what it is about it, whether its the general make up of the song or the fact I associate it with Playpoi or what, but Delhi 2 Dublin - Nightstep is a phenominal peice of music to spin to, i recomend everyone check it out

When I flow, it's usually to my boyfriend's Djembe playing. When that isn't available, it's The XX, (surprisingly enough...) Eiffel 65's first album. (the one with "blue"... just not that song..) The Werks, Papadosio, and of course, and most often, anything DUBSTEP.

I'm finding now it depends on how I'm feeling, how can it get more complicated choosing music? x) My music is now not consistent with any genre what so ever. Except that it's not rap and not dubstep.
Actually I seemed to have found a good consistency with Scooter x) By the way. How much is the fish?

was spinning to some weird semi-tribal irish gaelic vocal music (I have no idea what it was but that's the best description I can come up with) and it was surprisingly cool. if I had more room and hadn't been spinning for family I might have been able to really dig into that and pull a character out.
also have fallen in love with spinning to Massive Attack lately. so much of their stuff sits right there at the perfect tempo for flowing.

With the recent festivals here in Seattle, I've discovered I enjoy spinning to bluegrass, soul, and salsa. I think I'll still take glitch hop and dubstep as my defaults, though.
