Bendy split time wall plane

I can spin nice and flat with same direction wall plane and different direction same time wall plane but when it comes to, slit time spinning my right hand poi is nice and flat and the left hand poi, no matter what I try, spins at a 45 degree angle (away from my body).

It's really bugging me because I'm trying to learn a spiral wrap but that one poi is throwing everything out of sync, I've tried Nick Woolsey's barn door plane control method and also tried the spinning against a flat wall but just can't seem to get the left hand correct when I attempt the wrap, any ideas please

As a recommendation I can suggest trying to rotate the body while doing this move and see if a desired planechange occurs.
