No matter what toy you have but how many and what kind.

I myself have a pair or rainbow led poi balls in Aurora socks, Pro series led poi balls in jail house sock, Plus 2 extra pairs of poi socks and batteries. Then I have my fire poi, and then a monkey fist rope dart made with some wake boarding rope. So 3 poi 1 rope dart

About 5 sets sock poi, one set fire poi, one set glow poi, two contact staff.

Also a large number of assorted balls for juggling.

A large set of Matchbox cars rounds out my toy list.

Edit: Forgot 2 tonfa, 2 kali sticks, 2 bo. Also have a skipping rope somewhere....

The 16 pairs of poi I show on YouTube, plus two more (another, heavier inner tube headed poi with a different grip, and my flowlights whenever I use spare cord to rig flowlight handles), a rope dart, double staves, a few juggling balls. Also my newer pair of poi converts nicely into a meteor, so I'll count that as half a toy.

Aha! You're the first person I've come across with any experience of the concentrate poi: what do you think of them? Particularly have you had the chance to compare them with flowlights for brightness and how durable are they?

I have a friend who had one that had studs and zippers all over it. Was a cool jacket.

Jameth; the concentrate glopoi arent bad. They're a really bright light, lots of nice RGB setting and seem to be pretty durable. The handles and cord they come with arent that great but that can be easily fixed. I cant really say off the top of my head which is brighter out of them or flowlights, id have to see them side by side, nor do i know how durable flowlights are.

yeah man, 2 straight jackets, one is only prop-quality, but one is hardcore institution-quality made by the 'humane restraint' co.

@pineapplepete - thanks for the info. The thing with flowtoys for durability seems to me partly that they're fairly tough to start with but also that they're modular, so if you hit things hard when spinning all you need to is replace the case, not the whole light.

I can't vouch for whatever kind the above poster has, but I love innertube poi. They're cheap, flow well at almost any weight, and are extremely customizable. They're my favorite play poi for sure (if unforgiving as practice poi).

Currently, just a pair of home-made sock poi and a pair of LED poi (no idea what brand).

I also do some fun juggling/manipulation with a tray (like one from a fast food joint).

What type of poi are you using? Do you know what the weight is?

they're innertube poi, but most of the time i use my sock poi because the innertube hurt when you hit yerself with them, and i have not idea how heavy they are.

but by gueass would be around 100 grams perhaps a bit more or less

In the foreseeable future: 3"-4" acrylic cj sphere, acrylic cj spheres for multi-ball (probably 2"-2.5"), slackline, flowtoys.

I'm getting a ropedart I've decided And after that I want either a contact staff of meteor. I'm leaning towards contact staff because I want to have experience in both single staff and poi before meteor so it's easier.

I promised the wife I'd wait till my 2 year old is ready to learn bike riding before I get the uni, though. And that doesn't even include a passing fancy I have in getting LED version of some of those toys above.

i have a modified set now a pair of leds on shoe strings with the wooden handles with swivles and they are amazing

oh, that reminds me: I have a set of poi made with the 5-LED tap lights. I removed the back and attached it permanently to a half a tennis ball with a weighted interior. I got the idea from the old DMP. If you put em in the right material, they light up the whole sock beautifully.

of all my toys I prefer my Jailhouse sock poi the most. They are beautiful to spin with especially for wraps and spirals because of the springiness, they fling back open by themselves with zero effort but they are difficult to stall because of this, so i'm leaning towards the cones.

New flowtoys are amazing to play with as well, though they do feel a little bit clunky at the moment, not used to them yet.

I really really really want another pair of cone poi They were my favorite out of everything I've used so far, but I am getting a new chain/wick set, so that's draining my money for now. Next for sure is a set of cone poi! I have a pair still, but they have about 10 threads left holding them together so they're pretty much just scrap cotton.

So I have this little green polka dotted thing thats like for a baby play pen. My homie came over with his flowstaff and I remember I had that. I pulled it off my wall and have a supper ghetto staff. Doesnt work to well but its fun

Finally got my super ghetto bamboo double staffs. There a little short but were made out of a random piece of bamboo lieing around. Eventually will cut down a couple fresh stocks and get equal pieces.

However I must say double staff is not as fun as I thought it would be. I did however get a chance (and did) to get into contact staff. That is much more fun in my opinion. But it will always stand Poi FTW

The history of those is that Nick Woosly and Banyan were in Bali, or Costa Rica, I don't remember which and they saw something similar, so banyan modified the design and came up with those

Probably Bali. The style of loose flappy tie pants (apparently more commonly called "wrap pants") I like, and that I based my ironic spinning pants on, are Balinese, and the Action Pants have much the same fit, minus the sides that fly open if you move around too much.

The fire snakes were made by myself, just ordered some short leashes, 40 feet of kevlar rope, and some metal rings and wove them. They are shorter than typical snakes to make internal moves possible, the only negative i saw to snakes was the length limits movement so i made mine short enough to prevent that. Ever seen a buzzsaw with fire snakes?

Aww, you ordered the Isis fire poi just as I did! You will LOOOVVVVEE them! I have never used a better feeling pair of any type of poi in my life The only thing is I didn't like the handles, so I put on pro series single loop handles from good ol' HoP. Their chain is so light it feel like plastic o0

A 220g mountain bike inner tube cut open and wrapped around a piece of rope. Very heavy, very hard, but I dig them.

(edit: a bonus feature of this style of poi if you're hard on poi like me, is that they're practically indestructible.)

ya im putting single loops from HoP on my isis as well. they feel alot better for alot of tricks compared to double loops for me, but nothin beats holdin the poi between my thumb and index finger, unless there a spiral wrap involved.

I'm liking the sound of this i think i'm gonna have to make some.

I use double loop over single loop (I own both pro series from HoP) But I do not hold them like they are intended. I have found a comfortable and versatile grip with them. I put one loop on my ring finger with the other look facing away from my hand. Then I bring it to the inside of my hand. I find the thickness of double loop more satisfying then single.

As for new toys, I am not getting anything new so much as I am upgrading to either knob handles from HoP or golf ball handles soon, and a new pair of double loop pro handles with new shiny swivels.

so many ways to hold the poi haha.

I have the HoP ball handles if that's what you mean, I put swivels from FireMecca into the eyebolt and they're great. I use them for my small fire poi. It's one sleek set I must say But I like the chain that comes with the Isis heads better, it's just insanely light and better for orbitals as well as black.

This has become an issue. I have too many. I probably have like 8-10 different poi sets. Three staffs, a set of double staff, dart, meteor, a billion hoops/mini hoops, fans, juggling clubs, juggling balls... I'm probably missing some stuff but the point is I have too much, I can't possibly learn them all!

Update, new Flowtoys Spirit and Earth.
And a HoP Levistick.

+4 inner tube poi. One that matches the previous pair I mentioned, three with counterweighted handles (made with HoP's yellow rope--had extra, needed to use it somehow). The counterweights are about 75g each to keep up with the heads, making them kinda awkward (1.5" wide), but I think they're still manageable.

Next stop: Sol flowlights.

are those moonblazes marv? or the other 1 is isis? that's a lot of toys you got there.

Oh I forgot about my ancient Astrojax that somone reminded me of last night. They brought it to practice and I was the ONLY one that knew what it was other than him! Those things were the for a small amount of time when I was a wee youngin.

At least they're not miyachi.

But the astrojax remind me, I need to make one of this toy that someone at my spin jam came up with. Theirs is just three tennis balls connected in an equilateral triangle by some cord. They haven't come up with more than a couple of things to do with it, but it's one of those home brew props I see and think there must be a way to make it awesome.

No matter how many toys I get, I keep looking longingly at others. My appetite for play is unending! ^_^

I know someone in my spin group came up with this thing that so far I can use the best, but it's sooo awesome! It's like a hybrid of a rope dart and a meteor. It's basically a meteor with a long rope attached to the middle so say you were using it like a meteor, then you can throw it out and it keeps spinning and you yank it back and you can keep spinning it. Or you can also just use it like a rope dart. There are so many possibilities with it I need to make one!

What you need to make, is a video of it! ^_^

But I need IT first! I need some thinner rope! I have my old fire poi heads if I want fire and I have old practice wicks for it! I need some clothesline and some type of high tech insulation to keep me from dying in the harsh coldness of winter.

Also making another pair of contact poi soon trying out some Samson Ultra-Lite for the cords (floats on water like polypropylene rope, holds about a ton an the 1/4" diameter). What can I say, I'm fond of excess. And then I need to make a pair of swivelly contact poi... I hope Mr. Babache appreciates my business

So I have 3 3" Sil-X Implosion Contact Juggling Balls, and a bacci ball that my friend gave me. Its about 4 inch's and quite heavy, actually kinda dangerous at times lol.

Strangely, they are neither as heavy nor as painful to get hit with as my inner tube poi. The core is an eye bolt with a bunch of fender washers, but the cotton rope monkey fist actually pads it pretty nicely...

Just ordered new toys. A helix cross devil stick from Dube, and two 4" balls to make new contact poi.
Also have 2 sets of socks, 2 sets crystal poi with double mass, a dozen Flowlights, and 2 of every tube from 1L to 3.5L.

Xmas pressies: 2 pairs of new flowtoys (spirit and a custom green/white-purple I'm calling iris), tubes to make duos and a 6 light staff or baton.

I'm practising madly with the duos, so I can spin with them nye without braining myself or any other dancers.

There are still many things on my wishlist though, probably highest are juggling clubs.

nice collection. love the random bag of tennis balls. I thought they were for sock poi until I read the caption, I was like "that's a lot of sock poi you'll be making..."

so far I have:
- 1 pair practice poi (beanbag poi)
- 1 pair crystal cases + flowmass + colecord leashes and pro series handles
- 1 pair each of fire, water, & spirit flowlights
- 1 random pair of flowtoys handles
- a ton of extra colecord for future leashes

so not a lot. just got a raise and I'm thinking of buying either:
- moonblaze poi with twist link chain and medium wicks from firemecca
- contact staff rig from flowtoys + sol lights
- flowpoi duo rig + sol lights

not sure which I'll go for, so I'm mulling it over. any opinions are welcome!

I could make them into sock poi as well. Be better than most. Normal tennis balls are too light.

In terms of getting something new, I would suggest the fire poi, if only because you are already working on that. If you want to go into contact staff, it is fairly easy to make your own.

went through my whole flowtoys collection last night because I was missing a luna and wanted to make sure I hadn't just misplaced it. not only did I find the luna but I realized I am no longer missing a single part, not even a lowly battery! I am pretty amazed; at least one cap or flowlight or something is always missing.

I have not noticed a dimming by the yellowing of the crystal cases, just by the way.

hmm so your cases turn yellow too? good to know that it's nothing abnormal.

and I only notice a slight dimming on white lights, so it's not a big problem. I'm just a little OCD (without the D).

Yeah, it is entirely normal. Like I say though, I do not think it has any effect. I am sure Sean or Prisna could explain it if you asked them.
