Can one become addicted to tattoos?

Yes, it happens often.

Yes, tats, piercings and pretty much all mods can become addictive in a way. It's not the same as one might have for drink or smoke. It's like collecting, and the more extreme things you get, it sets the bar a little higher as far as your threshold for the discomfort of the various processes involved and the healing process thereafter. You think "well that wasn't that bad really, where could I go with that now?" After that it's really a matter of how far you are willing to push this collection.
Obviously lifestyle choices in relationships and careers can affect this depending on one's choices. That and their have been incredible advances in the past decade and a half in the realm of extreme body mods. Namely making things such as branding, subdermal implants and all the different types of scarification more mainstream and into a more professional environment. Things that were once being done in shady environments are done to the same sterile safe standards one expects in professional artists.

Mind you I’m convinced we all have little addictions.
I know I have one or two, for example for some reason when walking down the corridor at work
I have to run my had along the wall. Wait that’s autistic not addictive. Hmmmm.

Man I'm really sorry to hear somebody you knew and regarded passed away. Loss like that is always a bitch.

I've been meaning to visit the grave of a good friend who passed away a year ago. Me and another friend who the three of us used to smoke out, we're going to roast one last one on his grave and bury his favorite smoking piece in the ground above his coffin.

In 15 hours I'll have enough money for some flowlights and related accessories! (It's amazing what playing with a pair can do to your perception of how badly you need them.)

Yay! Just got in from a six mile run. Peanut butter and strawberry jam sandwich for the winner! It's funny when I go running in the poor part of town how people yell stupid jokes. It's like "sucka, let's see you keep up with me for even a quarter of the distance I just put in!" It felt good to run off some frustration I've been feeling today.
