spinning@ 's tuesday london location

so this runs every Tuesday without fail right?

me and a friend both live just outside London, Kingston area, we could most likely grab the train in to London with our poi, i also free style weapons such as nunchucks, would that be allowed there? (and im guessing fire isn't allowed there? not that that would effect me much yet...)

but yeah we could probably come along one day, if we can find the money for the train (we're poor students haha)

Yup, it's very reliable

Shame that the Kingston meet died a death (I'm sure there was one about 4 years ago though I never went) but it'll be our gain!

As far as I know nunchuckau and any legal weapons are fine (there are a couple of guys that regularly do escrima-type stuff) Believe me, it's worth the train fare (I travel back to St Albans afterwards and I'm also a no-good student).

Hopefully see you next Tuesday! (it's going to be a good one, there's definately a juggling workshop by Will (2ball and general juggling) (check out this awesome video of Will: http://www.juggling.tv/vaults )and maybe a poi workshop though I can't remember for sure).

On another issue, what is the user-friendly nickname for the new meets? Spinning@ is too long and @ is a bit too vague for my liking so may I propose Sp@ (Spat) as Spitz belongs to the past now (yes people, it's a big fat unashamed double-entendre).

its well worth the visit if you have never been before. Wills work shop was awesome and i am looking at getting in someone every 3 weeks for a juggling related workshop and hopefull running a poi workshops more often. If you want to teach... come and have a chat with me.

ive had to change uni/course at the last min.
so im moving to derby this week.
im gonna try to make it this tuesday but i dunno if ill be able to because of packing. gargh

Hiya all

I hope you have had a great festival and holiday season.

We are arranging teachers to come in more regularly to add a bit of verity and to help boost numbers.

we meet from 6,30 and workshos planned start at 8pm:

30 September a poi beginners and intermediate work shop
21st October durbs from burnt toast will be coming in to teach some cool poi tricks and on the 28th oct, Will is coming back in to do more ball juggling and manipulation.

Every week Chris is available to teach some contact ball juggling.

If there is a workshop you would like, please let me know and I will se if we can arrange it…

You can find us from 6,30ish to 10ish at The Rag Factory, 16-18 Heneage Street, London E1 5LJ. We are only 7 mins walk from the old spitz venue.

We then venture to The Pride of Spitalfields for drinks after.

7th October I'll be doing a rope dart workshop... I'll bring a couple of spares but if you can bring your own!

The best ropes to use are marine lines or cotton bondage rope (my favourite!) and I'd reckomend something soft on the end for a weight (tie a sock poi on the end of some rope for a basic one) for beginners.

Hope your all well. Thanks tom for doing the rope dart workshop last Tuesday.

Next Tuesday we have Chris teaching some contact juggling and probably some ball “on the head” balancing. On the 21st, Durbs from burnt toast will be in teaching some cool tricks with poi and on the 28th, will is coming back to do some more ball juggling and numbers juggling work shops.

Hi all,
thought it was about time that i posted something on here. I'll be doing a contact workshop this tuesday (14/10/08) It would be really cool to have a few people come, as it helps to have a few people at the start. I'm always there opening up so i'm allways happy to teach, something. I'd also like to thank everyone that come's every week to support us. I feel it's important to keep spinning @ going. Please tell yor friends. It would be really cool to get more people every week. Thanks everyone see you on tuesday :-)
