Um so how would those of us in the USA figure out how to attend the JFF? is it a campout thing? or a hotel thing? are there tickets you have to get, or... jeez I don't even know where to start, other than to say this looks like it would be absolutely amazing to go to.
no problem Brian Looking forward to see you in JFF!
Hope more people from ubroz can make it to JFF then it'll be super awsome
and >yinyangraver
it is camping thing, and yes you will need to purchase the ticket online from JFF website http://www.firefestival.jp/english/e_privacy.html (although this year's ticket has not been released yet).
I think what you need to start off with is to look for cheap flight so you can spend more money for your journey

wow.
yeah, well actually I am not very happy right now. In fact I am very sad about the fact that JFF is over now.
It was brilliant. What a bunch of nice and friendly people, what a great idea to have this contest, that does not feel like serious competition but more like a joy to watch and be part in. And wow, man, how great these performances were.
The Japanese fire spinning culture is very different from European fire spinning culture. It is more about showmanship, performing and entertaining with fire and I'd strongly recommend some jugglers to go and see stuff like the "erotic fire show" contest and they will see how funny and entertaining fire shows can actually be! Although I have been spinning for a few years now I have to say that I wasn't a big fan of fire shows so far. I truly have to revise this opinion after this funtastic event.
100000x thank you to Tomo, Yuta & all the other organizers!
also thanks to home of poi for the idea of sponsoring presents for the winners! what a nice idea!
I am a professional dancer on contract at USJ until Jan2011. I am doing some research in hopes to find a teacher to teach me the art of poi, fire dancing, and Fire Breathing. I am very intrested in starting asap and am looking for group or single lessons/workshops.
