May 6 2000 A French based CLS brainstorming team has come up with an idea to add emergency beacons to traffic cones, to help reduce the vast numbers that become abandoned. The system would involve a network of low earth orbit satellites that could locate traffic cones anywhere in the world, once they had become abandoned. The Team approached some major cone manufacturers about the idea, but were told the system could increase the cost of traffic cones to the customer by some 700%. The company did say however that were the CLS to absorb the cost they would be happy to attach this "innovative" new device. After talks with various satellite communication organisations the team were unable to find anyone that would support the venture. The CLS Steering group dismissed the idea of beacons and the beginning a space program to support the beacon system, and branded the idea "...ridiculous.." , "..beyond our budget.." and "...unnecessary.." The French team have begun talks with the European Space Agency and NASA regardless.

April 27 2000 UK Traffic Cone found in New York!! Its been reported that a UK Style traffic cone has been discovered abandoned on the streets of New York by one of our American Agents. A photograph of the cone which seemed unfamiliar was sent to the UK for identification, within 24hours of the discovery. Upon arrival of the photo, the cone was positively identified as the standard motorway cone used by the UK Highways Agency. After some consideration, it has been decided that freight costs will probably be to high to have the cone returned to the UK, so the cone is now being looked after in a rehabilitation centre. An investigation has begun to investigate how the cone managed to cross the Atlantic. Some sources suspect an unnamed major airline was to blame for the tragedy.

we here at muti and fahrenheit451 are firm believers in traffic cone rights. We further believe that all effort made to recover abandoned cones is in the best interest of society in general and should not be frowned upon by those not willing to help these poor cones.
