Hi everyone OK I was recently trying to setup my home network and in the process of setting up my new network drive 1 of my PC's has now gone kaput and won't connect to the internet. My old PC is fine, New PC won't connect Network drive won't connect my new PC for a short while after setup picked up my old PC and network drive from the My computer section I think somehow my firewall is preventing PC and network drive from accessing the web. It's all wired so no wireless problems. When I try to connect it keeps trying to connect via PPPoe WAN miniport all my internet options seem fine any ideas gratefully received. _________________________ see no evil, hear no evil, speak B*llocks Likes tail <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />

Fearpig member - tee hee "member" Registered: 06/09/03 Loc: Bethnal Green, London	Can you ping the router? If so can you ping the other pc attached to the router? Confirm your IP settings as that is probably the culprit. If you are using DHCP from the router try using: "cmd > ipconfig /release" and then "cmd > ipconfig /renew" this will dump all IP settings and then try to reobtain them from a DHCP server. Ensure you haven't enabled a protocol that conflicts with TCP/IP.... My network drive doesn't connect but that's another issue. Find someone who knows what they're doing, and get them to unplug it and plug it in again _________________________ You aren't thinking or really existing unless you're willing to risk even your own sanity in the judgment of your existence.
