Patrick: I don't think comments like that help the situation.
The thing is, there are people who are insinuating that someone - who has had a horrible experience and was willing to share it with the community at large in hopes that everyone would learn from it and not spread hate - may be a liar.
Many of us, including those who have known Sparrow, are reasonably annoyed. I for one, begrudgingly accept the fact not everyone will listen, nor learn - though I'm sad that society has made us not trust even those with good intentions.
It's one thing to be skeptical but it's another thing to post and blast someone's story as "unreasonable" without having first hand experience.
I could draw an extreme example by citing "Holocaust deniers". The proof is there, you can talk to those who lived through it, yet large groups of people still deny that it happened.
I know NYC's post was made in jest, but perhaps for future discussion everyone else can all refrain from personal attacks? You know, for the spirit of community and goodwill.
You see I was hoping I could link Sparrow to these posts with the support and kind words of the HoPers as well.

Instead it gets derailed...
