...did anyone hear on the radio about a fantasic invention of genetic modification?.. square peas! gone are the problems of chasing those little green dudes round your plate - only to get them on your fork, then they fall off! [Eek!] (the correct ettiquite of eating peas is to squash them on the back of your fork) Well gone are the days of social correctness.. peas can now be eaten by the fork or spoonfull allowing the eater total control, coz the ickle dudes don't roll around anymore.. [Big Grin]

good huh? [Wink]

Don't you guys think that this creation of square peas is kind of STUPID? All the money that went into it... It could have been used for cancer research or AIDS or chronic pain or something like that.

I don't intend to sound all hostile about it. I guess it is pretty impressive that they can do that. But for some reason I don't think you'll get much sympathy from a chronic pain patient when you tell him all about the horors and trauma of your peas rolling away from your fork.

Actually Shawnie, it's all the same research. If we can alter the shape of a pea, can we alter the shape of bloodcells to so they would be less susceptable to disease? Can we alter cells to become resistant or immune to AIDS?

Genetic modification has taken quite a bit of heat but there are many fabulous uses for it that have still yet to be thought of.

Like my plan for world domination.
{No wait, leave that part out.}

April fools isn't really that big around here but I still saw that for what it is. Come on if your going to do April fools. Do something believable. Everyone I know grew out of April fools at around grade three... But I do remember this little tid bit. He/she who fools after noon is him/herself a fool.

I eat my peas with honey.
I've done it all my life.
It makes the peas taste funny
but it keeps them on the knife.
