The Official maybe we should stop with all the Official threads

I was not upset so much at your complaint which has a rightful place but more at the attitude projected. I think that you took this 'official' business a bit to 'officialy'...

If something bothers any person a lot they should reconsider their perception of whatever it is that is bothering them. I dont mean to say that you didnt like these official threads because of the way you think...

I mean to say that if you examine why it bothers you so, you might find out more about yourself and how you take certain situations. This might lead to a better understanding of yourself and to you not getting annoyed at things like this in future.
If you let things in life affect you they might end up undermining your efforts to do good (or bad depending on what kind of person you are).

I am NOT critisising your motives or trying to make you feel in any way bad. I would just like to express my concern at how big a deal this was for you if you felt so inclined to post a thread about it and then got a bit upset when people gave you their frank and completely honest opinions.

I hope I have made a reasonable contribution. I have thought this through and read it several times. If my advice and concern is not apprechiated here I would like be informed in a kind and honest manner.

You know how much respect I have for you, but I have to say I am with Drome on this one.

I know it is a pet peeve *insert C@ntus reference here*, but that is just it, all it does is annoy you a little. People have just adopted the word "official" for their own purposes, cos they thinks it sounds swishy.

I wasn't going to post again here, cos I don't think there is much need to prolong the argument. But I do want to say that it worries me that something similar happened with the NEWB thread, that something that was just a bit of fun, was taken so seriously that the originator felt they had to remove it.

And besides, you cannot tell me that you don't appreciate having some warning of the frivolous nature of certain threads. This way you know which ones you want to avoid before you have even opened them!!!

BTW, still planning on tickling you until you smile again, grrl. (Just as soon as my arms recover from kickboxing last night )

I am comfortable with being out voted. I've never started and "official thread" and never will... barring brain fart.

It is beginning to bug me that so much is being deleted before anyone gets to read it. I know that in this thread, for example, I posted a counter argument to yours Flash. So I have to choices: I can assume that the rant that you posted concerned me or assume that it did not. That's an annoying decision to have to make.

wow.... bizarre reactions. I have to say that reading flashes thread it came off, like, well, no offence to anyone meant but like someone *edit* having a short whine about something. I mean, we post "man, i can't belive what happened today" threads. Why not this? It did get annoying until i realized i could ignore it, and promptly did. I guess I don't have enough time for it to upgrade to "pet peeve" status

She raises a good point, other people phrased it better, and i haev to wonder if some of the reaction isn't just because of her being a mod? Also- from teh otehr side- I don't think it's taht big of a reaction. I think there's just a lot of confusion going on here? I don't know what to think there. Just that this topic looks like it's a lot longer than it really warrents.

Glad I never heard about the "official what's wrong with me dr. mike" thread though.
