That's a great video Antti. Do you have any info on where it's filmed or who he is?
The instrument is called a santoor, and has only recently become a really popular instrument in North Indian classical, thanks mainly to Shivkumar Sharma. I saw his son Rahul play for about 3 hours at a festival in Varanasi. It was the best, just santoor and tabla improvising and going crazy mental on their instruments.
This is the first time I've seen it played in a non Indian Classical style. It's great, but I prefer the classical style. I can't find any great video's, here's a couple of ok ones

It's also a very popular instrument in Persian music (Iran as we call it these days) To my ears it gets too busy with the Indian style. Persian music is very elegant.
