Swindon's First HoP meet!

Anyway, i shall be making an appearance at some stage, but probably not Saturday day. Because i didn't put this on my work calendar, just the one that sits in my bag, my mum has booked me tickets for the lion king in London. but all at the same time.

looks like I wont be able to make all of it either, I have a family event on the sat evening/sunday but will try making it for the friday night ...

as much as Im ashamed to admit, I do occasionally enjoy picking my nose.
Will this be a problem?

I promise not to wipe bogeys on anyone.

(I would like to make out very clear, that I do not then proceed to eat any of my bogies, i think they taste disgusting)

Jake, any further with the plans or any more details for the weekend? The first post is still a little vague.

Roossco does not have tinternet so that is why he hasn't been on here. . . will see him tonight so will ask him again...

I'm not going to be able to go now, it's my birthday on the friday and my parents have sorted a party down the pub for me and invited friends from all over. sorry guy's.

ok, plan so far is:

Friday afternoon/evening: Arrivals, blagging beds, have a cup of tea, a wonder round the farm, a swing on the rope, a chill in the net. Generally just meeting old friends, and new ones . . .

There will be a fire sculpture, so we will begin making it on Friday and finish it by saturday night . . .

Vegan dinner will be served at 8ish. If you want dinner it is great if you let me know before hand, so we make enough. Even if you won't be arriving on time, we can save you some. This applies to Saturday evening as well. So pm me anytime before you come to let us know.

Friday night: Fire fun as always!

Saturday: A trip to Avebury stone circle, with a picnic and spinny juggly stuff. This would need about 3/4 cars to get everybody there . . .

Sat. evening: We can stay in Avebury for dusk and some darkness to do some fire by the stones and then head back for dinner, or go back for dinner while it is still light, and leave fire until later on . . .

Sat. night: African drum jam by campfire, burning of fire sculpture, and mass fire spin.

We should also have a nice sized sound system to pump the tunes for the weekend (so bring some CDs!).

Sunday will mainly be hanging out having a juggle/spin, and generally recovering from the amazing party we'll have saturday night There will be an optional walk to a nearby country park to climb some trees and stuff There is a possibility of having a go with some BIG kites at the park, if the conditions are right . . . something a bit different

I'm well looking forward to it now!

Oh yeah . . .

I have been contacted by the localish press asking if they can do a 'feature on Swindon's First HoP Meet'.

I don't have a problem with it, but I just thought I'd let you guys decide . . .

I'm guessing it would involve a photographer and reporter coming over for about half an hour to an hour to take some photos and talk to a couple of people about what we're doing.

What do you think? It would be good to know asap, because they are waiting for a response . . .

Of course there is space. The accomodation does cost a little bit though. But we still have LOADS of space. It would be great to see you again! Check out the first page for some interesting links about where we will be etc . . .

Cost not problem as long as it's warm!! Put me down for Fri & Sat, not sure about sunday - I'll probably end up with a couple of Manchester people with me too.....

Well I really really want to be there, but at the moment I don't know whether or not I'm going to be able to get away....Beth would you mind if I made quite a last minute decision?

No problem, we live in the same city after all. I wont be going up until friday afternoon as i have lectures in the morning and i'll be coming back sunday afternoon/evening. As long as your last minute decision doesnt come on friday morning/afternoon, its fine

Also, i have no problems with the press being there. At least they asked, i was spinning with some friends in the park on bonfire night, had loads of pics taken of me without permission and saw them in the paper a few days afterwards!

well quite, but it turns out i am, except for the sunday, that's what happens when you organise a poi meet on a rugby weekend, everyone else bagsies the time off but maybe i can join sat night and sunday, swindon's not so far i think, or will everyone be buggering off early on the sun?

people can stay and hang out on sunday. no problems with that . . . what time would you be able to get to swindon? are you coming from cardiff? it should take about hour and a half.

i don't have a clue at the minute, will check the train situation and time i am working until.... get back to you dreckly
