I found another good hugger over the past weekend - there are so few of them in the world. Pity she lives in another state

Try dressing up as a clown and offering random people in the city hugs. People either REALLY dig it or stay the hell away from you.

I've also run around with a giant pair of plastic scissors offering 'free haircuts and circumcisions'

Ha! Awesome! I have a moogle costume (basically a big, teddy bear version of my avatar), so when it cools down perhaps that'd be a fun way to spend a day.

Yeah. It's great fun.
You need to put a lot of energy into how you interact with people though, especially with my clown character who can be a bit... intimidating.....
Running up and hugging them before they get a chance to say no worked well. Over exadurated body language had much less success.

I completely forgot about the Hug Theory!!

I didn't actually look at the purpose of this thread...

But back in my younger days I actually used to do this, I'd hug random people all the time...

I've since discovered that it works almost flawlessly at events where everyone camps together, festivals and the like...

On the street, not so well. Hit and miss. Can work if you pick your targets. If you're male and want hugs from the opposite sex, be sure you're seen to be hugging males first, otherwise you come across as a perv.

hmmmm....hug campaign!sigh!i don't want to spoil the fun you guys,but giving hugs to everyone without asking can bring you to the difficult position of trying to explain the whole spirit of "free hugging" to the maniac,jealous girlfriend of the guy you just hugged!Just...be careful!!!I'm now more afraid of girlfriends,than fire!!

inappropriate touching is always frowned upon by partners. Its stupid I should be able to randomly grope whoever I choose without repercussion.

Unless your a dirty old man and they are innocent little kiddies.
