We shall try and plan to be there 12ish then, I will probably only stay a few hours as I will have the sproggs with me, and I expect it will be absolutely freezing, if this week so far is anything to go by.

freezing?? great. well it's supposed to be -12 here and we had snow last night! although we're keeping a nice toasty warm 34C inside with the wood oven so I'm still going to freeze in Cardiff...

Maybe we can meet, slightly after 12... like 12.30 or even 1... I only plan to stay in the cold for a few hours too, despite blankets, chocolate and biscuits...

considering i read that as 'primate-vision', probably not... i've never heard the word before, but you tell me what it's supposed to mean, and i'll tell you if i know about it

its when artists such as gauguin and picasso got obssesive with so-called 'primitive' art. tribal art...etc. basically the whole idea was to find some kind of raw inner form of expression but in trying to recreate 'primitive' styles and techniques they took their western views with them and, in my opinion, made crap work. Gauguin moved to madagascar or somehwhere and tried to become a local. He referred to himself as a 'savage' which in itself proved that he viewed the inhabitants as savages, an extremely racist view, although at the time perhaps a fairly common view in western society. Basically it didn't work.
(n.b. the word 'primitive' is used only because it has always been. Really i suppose what we mean in this context is 'non-western' art. 'Primitive' suggests that it is undeveloped in some way, which is most certainly not the case)
