Manchester Spinners Meet up Info + Stuff

everyone! I just wanted to introduce myself! My name's Andy (I'm a mate of Jo Rhymes if any of ya's know her?), and I'm a complete n00b to this whole poi thing! I just got my first poi recently, and started to learn some of the basics. Lookin to meet up with other poi dudes n dudettes to start spinning with and learn from and to generally have an ace time

Would it be cool if I joined ya's at any of your meets? I notice I just missed one on Sunday! Hope you guys had an awesome time!

I'm livin back at my folks in St. Helens at the mo while I'm at uni, but is well easy for me to get to Manchester.. I used live in Manchester so I know Castlefield, Platt Fields, and Whitworth park (used to live near the latter!)

sunday 24th? thsts good for me what about everybody else?> when do you think?

I have a gig to go to on the 24th which means I'll leave about 7 or 8. I'd prefer not to go to a meet and feel like I have to rush off somewhere later. Otherwise 24th is a good date!

Okay, last meet we had the idea of having workshops to get everyone into gear to start spinning more. Seye and I found that Castlefield as a whole (not just the basin) was a quite a visually striking place so we had the idea to make a video involving everyone. So if you want to be on camera, doing anything, no matter what skill level you're at put your name forward.Otherwise I will film you anyway!

Perhaps ending in a massing burn actually at the basin.

I can make the 24th. Will be pretty tired after workin from 6am.. but sack it, who cares!

All that stuff you mentioned Neon sounds cool! Though, I'll have to jus sit back and watch the mass burn, as I've got a long way to go before I'll be ready for the fire poi yet!

Anybody watchin Pride roll through town the day before? My Samba group - Sambangra - are playin in the parade, and I'll be there on Tamborim!

I'm easy. As long as I can gets a lift, I'll be there... Failing that, I might even gets a train...

well i do have a preferance for the 31st, saves me going through the hassle of getting shifts covered, but if ppl prefer the 24th i can still try

seems theres a few people who can do one or the other and some can do both. so why not have a meet on both those dates?

I was thinking trying to get a weekly thing going. On my travels EVERYWHERE has at least ONE weekly thing, and I don't see why it can't happen here!

Oh we can still have a big monthly one for everyone in the surrounding areas...

I could only do 24th for definite as I'm working the afternoon of 31st n not sure if I could get it off yet.. Though the earlier I know the better the chance. Either way, I'm not expecting others to base their decision around me with me be a newbie n all... I can always aim to make the next one

well i think just gives more reason to do both dates
