yeah, thanks for the offer mech, but i should be ok for ball juggling info from my mate.

grrr. 4 balls feeling so cool, but i consistently get to 8 catches before everything goes pear shaped. i think my natural instinct to throw the ball to other hand kicks in and it all goes to sh*t.

i think the best thing about balls is that my hands arnt sore from club abuse. theres that one point on my left hand, 1.5cm down on the palm from my index finger, which my club always hits causing much pain and hilarity.
will ball juggling, the only thing suffering is my thesis, which when i think about it is due in 3 days, and so i really shouldnt be on here telling you all about it.

yeah i agree - clubs are evil

eyes take the worst punishment in my experience - all of my closest juggling friends have had at least one "oooh, that could have been *really* nasty" type eye injury.

i used to bruise my hand there all the time too den - in fact i've hardly club juggled since the british convention because of exactly that injury (whose idea was it to try to throw bloody quints to the ceiling of the big top?!).
and if your hands want to throw crossing balls, you could always start on the 4 ball patterns that help build up to 5:

552 and 55550.

in related news i managed to poke myself really hard in the temple with my thumb last night.
was nailing 55514 with the 1 behind the head and tried to pass my empty hand quickly through the side of my head.
which didn't work at all...

building up..... consistently up to 16 catches of 4 ball...

im getting to the point where im am beginning to control my throws, and adjusting for my over enthusiastic left arm.

im really working on this 4 ball stuff to master that 4 ball mills mess whichi think looks really cool.

am also trying to get the hang of 1's. am trying to get a continuous 313 going, but my hands are being most uncooperative.

if you know site swap.

then you should know that 313 is not a trick that can be done.
you must be doing something else.

to work it out.
you add up all the numbers you throw, in this case 313 = 7.
you then divide that number by the amount of numbers you started with, in this case 3.
7 devided by 3
that gives you 2.3333333.
this number tells you how many balls you are throwing.
and you can't throw .3333333 of a ball.
so it is not a valid site swap.

that is not to say that you are not doing a trick like it. beacuse we are human, and we can cafugle numbers and throws.

but there might be other numbers you are throwing.
like 4x4x1
but x's are another story not for to day

stupid me. got all confussd. what i meant, was throwing a ball in each hand up and catching it with the same hand - but doing this alternately, and throwing a 3rd ball between the two hands at the same time.

never mind - ill duck off and find the actual name.

does the ball you throw between hands change each time.

if so it might be 441.
or it could be the box, if you throw the 4 ball and the 1 ball at the same time.
if the 1 is the same each time.

Dentrassi - I am in Canberra, so pretty close to Sydney. I generally juggle balls or fire clubs so any new stuff to master on those is fun. I would also like to try some stuff with rings though, but since everyone has different tricks and styles, I would love to meet any funky circus folk in sydney : )

cole, i've just followed a few of your no's move links for the first time only to discover that i've been trying half these patterns without knowing their no's translations. for example 55550 is just 4 balls in a 5 ball pattern isn't it? i think i can see how all the no's work now. a 0 is a no throw in't it? as for skills i'm getting ever closer in my quest for 5 at the moment + can do an inconsistent 4-ball tennis now. we should have a juggle at spitz tomorrow if you're gonna be there...

i don't understand how an inverse 5 ball cascade works.

i've looked at simulators, i've watched people doing it, i've even run a tape of me juggling a cascade backwards.
i've juggled inverse 3b snakes, constant 3b inverse flashes, all nice and tight.

but put 5 balls in my hands and i can't inverse flash them neatly to save my life.

now what you need to do is to try throwing them higher, at first atleast.
nice and slow? take your time. and think onday you'll be as good as me. hehehe

also you know what would help you no end is to come to carvin, where I am, just for a week. starting on sunday. I think that there are a few people here that can help you.
