Hello all,
I am tentitivly scheduling a date for a 1 day (4 hour) Beginners double staff intensive tutorial to be held in Central London Sunday July 4th.
I'd like to see if there are many people interested to see if it is worth my while?
Ideally people will have a fairly firm grasp of single staff moves and how to turn with your staff - although I plan to use some of the time brushing up single staff techniques.
Aaaaanyway... PM me please - It'll be a 10 person limit and an approximate cost of £25.
big love
dave

Id reccommend this to anyone who wants to learn some new stuff with Doubles. Daves got a *lot* of nice moves, and is an excellent teacher.

um also - if you havent been doing doubles for a while, you might like to start using them as much as possible, to build up your strength before the course. 4 hours of doubles might not seem like a lot to people like Dave, but in My experience beginners new to doubles can sometimes have their arms fall off after trying to spin doubles for hours

Ah...silly Dave
Meant to be a *Beginners* intensive rather than a contacty type stylee....
Strugz if you need more doubles contact come to PiP Clapham! Ben-ja-men is on his way over soon too so that should be some extra doubles contact shinanegins.
No fear Josh (and other bambi-limbed spinners ): you wont be madly spinning for all 4 hours... I talk a lot! and I have cunning plans so that we won't all be buggered by the end of it.

Now that it says beginners... my ears prick up!

Um, I don't have a firm grasp of single staff... (don't own a staff, even!), but plenty of time to learn, right?

Please pm me if the class is going ahead?

Thanks!

I figure: someone who may or may not know a few basic moves turns etc... but is adept in single staf.
I will be covering basic doubles patterns in parallel, opposites and opposite split-time, turns and links. Then we'll move on to other concepts: throws, crosses, butterfly techniques etc...
being an 'intensive' I intend to go through a lot of different concepts in the session. It's not intended that you'll have everything completely nailed by the end, but that you'll have quite a few things to take home with you.

hmmm....
I guess the easiest answer will be:
bring the sticks you will be doing fire with.
Massive sticks will make the buzzsaw section considerably harder
but all other things will be possible.
For the record: I spin with smaller sticks so that's what my style is generally based around.

i don't do fire much so i'm confused now

i'll bring little sticks - don't want to miss out on anything really and transferring skills to big sticks shouldn't be too much of a probelm i'm told.

see ya in pilton man

Ps whats a pong?

a pong is the reply to a ping.

a given pong is like the smokable form of a hug.
